Explaining mysogyny to us all (well, to those managing to read through the self-indulgent waffle):

But what I can do is explain things in a way a lot of women can’t

Sounds like Natalie is exactly a woman in every single way, except just a bit better. All the sluttish tendencies, none of the over emotional hysteria. Woman 2.0

Imnobody4 · 06/08/2022 10:14

Off topic. I've had an ad about make up appearing on the Times for ages. Totally ignored it as wear no make up but zoomed in the other day and; yes it was a transwoman offering to show me how to apply make up 'properly'. Did other people get it?

TheBikiniExpert · 06/08/2022 10:21

I'm so sick of the patronising twonkery. Make all your dosh as a bloke, while building an environment in which most women would feel really uncomfortable, and then tell women what they're doing wrong. Fuck off.
👏Nailed it.

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 06/08/2022 10:24

Extensive research has established one truth: women are treated differently at work. Egan, one of the few people who’s been both a male and female boss, knew this academically yet was still shocked by the reality.

erm what now? Since when was ‘female’ up for grabs as well as ‘woman’?

achillestoes · 06/08/2022 10:28

‘But the apparent solution here seems to be to train women to speak in such a way that men will listen.’

It’s not even that. It’s for men to say they’re women and ‘better’ than other women at getting men to listen. You couldn’t make it up!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/08/2022 10:30

Julia sounds like a bit of a sap to swallow all this crap, tbh.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 06/08/2022 10:00

So, best not to reward the Times with clicks for this. Don’t need to read it anyway…we could have written the cliches ourselves!

I don't know - that person seems like a walking cliche, but the comments underneath the article are stating a lot of truths that get us deleted here, so more sunlight Smile

I think it's good to remind people exactly what these 'struggles' look like, and their prevailing attitudes to women are well captured in the article (and taken apart in the comments).

It's still mind-boggling to many people that transvestites now think themselves women, including me.

WaveyHair · 06/08/2022 10:35

Christ, I can see someone has disappeared up their bottom in order to inflate their male entitlement a tad more. Never read more male orientated bollocks...

Men will only ever listen to other men, even if they are wearing mini skirts and nail varnish (which incidentally does not make you a woman).

LK1972 · 06/08/2022 10:41

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/08/2022 10:30

I didn't get a feeling of warmth from the article. I felt it actually gave the person interviewed as much voice as needed and the person told us all we needed to know.

Slightly handmaiden-ish Julia does admit to feeling patronized at some point, but then the male 'saves themselves' by saying something nice, so that's all ok Wink

Yes, I did. But it’s not there today.

Same misogyny, different clothing.

Egan is looking in the wrong place to understand why there's loneliness. Egocentricity and lack of insight don't tend to be charming.

As ever, I see the implication an extraordinary number of men would prefer to be with their idealised version of a woman, as rendered through a transwoman.

Egan is now attracted to “cis-heteronormative masculine men”. “There’s no shortage of them attracted to trans women, but the problem is most of them are deeply ashamed. If they had their way they would come over to my house, then they would leave in the dead of night and never talk to me again. But things are changing a bit.

It's our modern Pygmalion and Galatea except the silent Galatea is a speaking version of themselves. (I haven't fully worked that out yet.)

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/08/2022 10:46

Yes, they're bisexual and in the closet. Why else would they be "ashamed"?

unwashedanddazed · 06/08/2022 10:50

So many seem to transition and then become a professional trans person, preaching to others how to be inclusive. They spend their whole lives trying to bend the will of the world to affirm their 'womanhood'.

Out of control egos.

PermanentTemporary · 06/08/2022 10:52

Oh female has been grabbed at times for ages @SteveHarringtonsChestHair. The phrases 'transgender females' (men) and 'transgender males' (women) were used in an academic paper on sport experiences in 2018 and made the paper extremely difficult to read accurately. I can only assume it was deliberate. I spent a very long time with one paragraph of it untangling the language, and realised that it made it clear that women were not competitive with men in the sports discussed. No wonder the language became like a Gordian knot at that point.

To be completely fair, the acronyms 'MtF' and 'FtM' also refer to the same words. Of course they are considered outdated both on here and by TRAs because they refer to the view of the world that says there is such a thing as a sex change. But people still use them at times.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/08/2022 10:53

Because it's about power. It got boring having won the game in male mode, so this person decided to see if they could win it in female mode.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/08/2022 10:55

But people still use them at times.

I use them only where I cannot use more accurate ones. I will never use the word woman for a male.

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 06/08/2022 11:05

‘If women have to experience even a fraction of what I just went through, how awful would that be?'

Sorry love, but you think women experience less sexism than a man presenting as a woman?? But hey you really understand women and have this unique insight.

You also usually 'pass' (but not today obviously because you look 'shit') but you also get blanked by people infront of you in queues (which actually implies that you don't even pass to someone who has a brief corner of the eye glimpse of you).

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/08/2022 11:10

Why is it that first memories of wanting to be female are all about Mummy's clothes and not 'cooking like Mummy' and 'cleaning like Mummy' (or doing whatever women's work is appropriate? And it's always bloody underwear.

"Sometimes women get annoyed with me because I’ve almost become like a gender-whisperer where I can explain to other men what’s happening. My female friends are like, ‘What the f*? We’ve been saying that for years and no one listens to us.’ But what I can do is explain things in a way a lot of women can’t because I know how men were raised"

That's it I'm done with the internet for today

Well after reading that nonsense, so am I!

mutters fkin 'gender-whisperer' my ass

FrogsOwls · 06/08/2022 11:30

Why do some transwomen (the ones who get articles written about them) always seem to be under the impression they are like women…but better?

Its like they want to be seen as just another REAL woman…but then, also not.

Especially these self confessed ‘alpha’ types. I’m always left with the impression that they feel like they aced being a bloke and so needed a new challenge. A sexier one <sigh>

zanahoria · 06/08/2022 11:40

OK, I may have taken this article and it's headline seriously if they had interviewed her employees to see if they had noticed a change in their alpha male boss but no it is all about Natalie, all about how Natalie judges other people, nothing about how people may view Natalie.

zanahoria · 06/08/2022 11:42

Yep that is exactly it

Yes, I suppose men will listen to other men. Men will prioritise other men.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 06/08/2022 11:45

Love the bit about how cis norm het ( that is, real men) are really yearning to have intercourse with this person but are too scared?shy? Or something to actually get down to it.

yeah, right. Like most men have a problem approaching someone who is clearly up for it ( to the extent of advertising the fact in a national/ international newspaper.

Dream on.

BootsAndRoots · 06/08/2022 11:46

Another case of going from one extreme to the other.

Being a "bro-grammer" to being a stereotyped version of a woman (a la Little Britain).

I bet a lot of men hated that work environment just as much as the women in that environment. I've heard horror stories in these tech firms, one where the CEOs would fart on male employee's balls for instance.

Trans ideology is now about 2 fixed polar opposites. If you're not a hard man you must be a woman and vice versa.

You get the feeling that the father wouldn't accept a sensitive boy, but it's much easier to accept that your child has a medical issue instead, and that changing sex is much preferred.
