The row over drag queens reading stories to children.

A spate of protests outside libraries has focused attention on the idea of drag queen story hours - drag queens reading stories to young children in libraries and other public spaces. For some, it’s the perfect way to build acceptance of LGBTQ+ identities, plus it’s fun and fabulous for the children. For others, it risks exposing young minds to adult entertainment and complex themes of sex and gender.

Hmm... I'll be interested to see how this goes

I see the series has already had an episode about the Gender Wars, I'll give that a listen later.

It's so nice to see this being discussed calmly and in detail on a prime time show. 'putting a dress on and saying ''today I am a girl'' is sexist, like putting on to become a girl means wearing a dress costume' (paraphrased) great stuff

Jo is very good. The guy in opposition - not as articulate at all.

Loving Jo! She is clear and concise and taking no shit.

Whoever that person, DJ, is has such an ideological view and such a gay man centred view on this issue. Not a child centred view on this issue. And lacks the self awareness to realise it.

FFS safeguarding is not just about the immediate risk of a drag queen abusing a child at an event!

Safeguarding person isn't recognising the confusion that a male says he's a female causes. Suggest selling with pom poms you can change sex.

At least he acknowledges anything highly sexualised shouldn't be around children

Yes - cutting and pasting and not actually understanding what safeguarding is.

Drag is creepy and leery l, like that drunken uncle who puts his hand on your leg when you're a child. It makes you want to run away but you don't have the words to express yourself

Listening too.
I'm all for openness but gobsmacked by the Drag Queen who was teaching kids how to twerk. How does this help advance humanity?

I don't think drag has a place in modern society at all.

Exactly, it's instinctively wrong.

If drag was ok, we'd have female drag artists.
