80 year old woman banned from pool for standing up for little girls

This poor woman dedicated her life to defending women and girls. She heard a male voice while in the shower at her local pool, looked out and saw a TW changing near 4 or 5 little girls while staring at them. She stepped in, asked if the TW had a penis, and got banned and the pool staff threatened to call police on her. They lied and said she said all kinds of profane things. This is so disgusting. I feel so bad for her.

How many parents pack their kids off to camps and holiday clubs?

Because it was mentioned upthread I asked my husband whether he would sign a consent form that allowed a male to watch a group of five year old girls change in or out of their swimmers for a holiday activity or just a regular lesson if changing was needed. He was horrified at the thought. He asked why any parent would think that was appropriate? And his is pretty accepting that TWAW.

I changed my question then to reflect that if it was a transwoman and his answer was exactly the same.

I truly wonder at parents who do agree to this.

But my question still is, did the parents know that the supervision would be by a male in the change room? I suspect no. And I suspect that YMCA pool will have some parents asking some pretty direct questions now too. And in many centres in the USA.

Despite how traumatic this has been for Julie Jaman, she has been successful in highlighting the issues here. Inadequate curtains, males supervising little girls undressing, lack of provision for females needing single sex spaces included.

WTF

Are you saying there are men out there deluded enough to think that they can carry a pregnancy and give birth and who at the same time want to have access to abortions? My mind is blown.

Had some posters popping up here on MN telling us exactly that. Proudly.

Grace Laverty has posted on social media about how amazing It was to think one day transitioned males would be able to get abortions.

This is more common than you think.

Scientists should spend time, energy and money helping provide clean water and vaccinations to children in countries where these necessities are often in short supply - not pandering to the self indulgent delusions of a minuscule minority who are probably very privileged in many ways in comparison with millions of the world’s poorest.

Kennykenkencat · 06/08/2022 15:15

Wouldn’t a trans woman need an abortion should they ever get pregnant.

Whilst trans women might fully believe they are women their male bodies don’t change just because they say so.
A baby doesn’t just grow into an ever expanding “stomach” It pushes vital organs out of the way and a woman’s ribs and pelvis is designed to expand to allow the growth of the baby.
If they didn’t the result would be akin to Termite in The Boys. (Don’t google the scene if you haven’t watched it already. It is truly horrendous from start to finish in more ways than one)
A baby growing into a space that can’t get bigger will result in an abortion or risk an exploding pelvis every time.

LK1972 · 06/08/2022 15:21

Thanks @Helleofabore , I think that's who I was thinking of, although there are so many awful things said by that person it's hard to remember Hmm

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 06/08/2022 15:28

@Kennykenkencat stop with all that logic and common sense!

There are a small number of TW who through a clear failure in the education system seem to think that you just get a live woman to volunteer to donate their uterus (only works with a live donation) then shove it in a male abdomen and a baby will grow.

No understanding that the male abdomen has no female endocrine system so none of the necessary hormones to sustain and progress a pregnancy. Plus of course no ovaries or Fallopian tubes so no egg to be fertilised and no functional vagina linked to the uterus and no cervix.

Just search uterus transplant in Twitter to see all the delusion, or look up Jessica Alves

Helleofabore · 06/08/2022 15:44

We have a regular poster who has assured us not to worry. The uterus implants into males will be happening very soon.

They also couldn’t answer how experiments were going to be able to be done when experimentation on embryos could only happen until 21 days at the moment. Ethics dictated that they are destroyed by then. That may be changed to 5 weeks for stem cell research soon.

These changes have been the first for decades. And pushed due to stem cell work which has benefit to all humans.

We were told that obviously we were all pro-lifers because we were horrified that foetuses would be used as experiments for these males. That foetuses had no rights. (Ummm…. That ignored the ethics information presented completely of course.)

This the type of discussion that takes place on social media. It is rather eye opening the ignorance of female bodies, the hugely complex interaction of the female body and a foetus across multiple organs and all managed by a system males cannot have ‘installed’ and the willful exploitation of an infant at any stage of life, to be able to fulfill a male’s needs.

In these situations, swimming pools imparticularly. I wonder if a group of older women went into the male changing rooms and put on a pair of swimming trunks only and then went out to the pool to swim.

Do we think that YMCA staff members would chastise a man who was uncomfortable having older women who say they are male in their changing
area

Didimum · 05/08/2022 08:17

Agreed. This is one woman who perceived the TW to be ‘looking’ - was that true? Who knows. Not appropriate, ever, to ask about someone’s genitalia, unless in a medical capacity. She should have reported her concerns to the management of the pool.

Not appropriate, ever, to ask about someone’s genitalia, unless in a medical capacity.

How are police to investigate crimes such as flashing, voyeurism or sexual assault without asking about genitalia? All of these crimes involve genitalia. And of course 99% of these crimes are committed by males. With their male genitalia.

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 07/08/2022 09:03

Screeching, I think we have moved on from asking about genitalia. This thread (I think) has been discussing how to tell when a transwoman has an innocent, exposed erection which is when you look away - and when someone with an exposed erection nearby might be more sinister.

I am quite keen to having this explained properly because even I, as an adult woman with multiple children don’t get this.

as a bonus, could maybe Didi elaborate on how you explain this to 9-year old girls? My default position is that a 9-year old shouldn’t see any erection at all and for avoidance of doubt, we are talking about a communal changing room where everyone gets naked and very limited amount of cubicles but I am always keen to hear other people’s views. I am trying to understand this better.

and before anyone jumps in that “this never happens” regarding erections, yes it does. Happy to post links.

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 07/08/2022 09:06

It comes down to, should male bodied people be in the female changing rooms. I am fed up with excuses “only leaving a swim cap”, “tried to change discreetly, your own fault if you saw something”, “innocent erection”, etc.

let’s discuss everything here now and see where different people think boundaries lie

@BoredofthisCrap7 please, let’s keep this civil.

we have had posters defending women and children in proximity to transwomen’s exposed erections with “it was an innocent erection, don’t look”.

we can give our thoughts later. Now I would like to have didi answer first if women can get erections and if yes, if it is ok for little girls to be in the proximity to an exposed erection, however innocent.

I think this guy was doing more than looking.
According to the police report he was helping a young girl take off her bathing suit.

Wishing you much luck. I don’t think I have ever seen these questions answered.

They do get asked.

I do remember similar posts after WiSpa.

Apart from a doubling down on intention and ‘how do you know it is an erection it could be size’ and I am not answering ‘those’ questions the crickets are still chirping and tumbleweed has fully covered the many threads, that would have amounted to pages in the hundreds…

crickets are deafening !

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 07/08/2022 09:55

@Didimum would you mind answering the question about erections and proximity to little girls?

@Kennykenkencat I am not sure that it is confirmed what this person actually was doing. Let’s be clear about that.

however, what do people think about transwomen helping underaged, handicapped, non verbal girls with their intimate care and going to the toilet?

archive.ph/abs5z

this transwoman (see link above) is traumatised that they wasn’t allowed. @Didimum do you see any issue here?

334bu · 07/08/2022 09:57

I don't really think it is possible to be civil to anyone who insists that women have no right to exclude adult males from areas where women are naked and vulnerable.

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 07/08/2022 10:33

I am happy to give people the benefit of the doubt in an online discussion.

I think many people are desperate to be kind and feel very protective of what they perceive to be a persecuted minority who has suffered greatly. I genuinely feel for any transwoman who has gone through hell. if you think “big picture” it is easy to forget about that the devil always is in the details.

most of the time is seems that the “be kind” people never use communal changing rooms themselves and that the solution is single cubicles. Well, that means closing several swimming pools. Should everyone miss out on exercise because transwomen cannot accept to change in a separate area to women?

Do I have an issue with a transwoman being attracted to women, retaining their penis and getting elections? Of course not, that is very natural. But I am arguing that I do not want to see those erection and that I don’t want my daughters to see them.

and that is before we even come to the issue of men pretending to be trans specifically to get access to women . Was there not a study about Scottish prisoners (male) claiming to be trans for the duration of their prison time and then “detransitioning “.

this is why I am trying to hard to have a civil discussion about the details. They do matter.

I think tranwomen need to be accepted and not discriminated against. If they have suffered, they need mental health support.

but women and girls matter too. And they need support. I am against male bodies in single sex spaces and happy to calmly discuss why.

It is impossible to achieve a balanced view and to come to any solution unless all the details are discussed, calmly from both sides.

BoredofthisCrap7 · 07/08/2022 17:06

Also, let me just clarify that my deleted comment was not directed to any specific individual on this thread, and I don't believe that anything I said was uncivil.
I don't think people need to police what other people say on the thread either.
Kellie Jay Keene was visited by the POLICE a couple of weeks ago for saying something similar though (and it seemed the police were amazingly defending the rights of someone who had taken umbridge around a very similar topic), so it seems that, in todays mental society, I am unable to say that those who think erections around children are absolutely fine, are perhaps not people I would want around children.

Horrifying to watch some of that footage. Young thug blokes ripping shoes off women, pushing and shoving elderly people, while the police do what?! Stand by?

Kennykenkencat · 17/08/2022 10:17

If trans women are women then why at the first sign of opposition do they turn to shouting down women with their louder male voices and resort to physical aggression.

In other words, if trans women think they are women why do they act so like men.

If other types of dysphoria are treated as a mental illness why is gender dysphoria not treated in the same way.

What is the difference between someone who wants to amputate a leg because they truly believe they only have one leg and wants to live their life as a disabled person and someone who wants to amputate their penis or breasts and wants to live their life as someone of the opposite sex.
