Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

See if you can guess which/how many options were available for the gender and sexuality parts of an EO form I just had to fill in…

Had to fill in an equal opps form as part of the onboarding process for my new job.

Curious to see if anybody can correctly say how many and/or which options there were to choose from in the gender and sexuality parts of the form (not including “other” and “prefer not to say”).

Anyone care to venture a guess?

I actually meant to say 17 but my keyboard is too small

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/08/2022 00:00

At least we're all unanimous that it's something with a 7 on the end

Penguintears · 02/08/2022 00:02

77

Hmmmmmm. Between 37 and 19.

ControversialOpening · 02/08/2022 00:20

11 or 13

I've always liked prime numbers

ControversialOpening · 02/08/2022 00:21

... or 17, as that's a prime and ends in a 7

  1. Someone needs the lower end (and I'll win if everyone goes high).
Redshoeblueshoe · 02/08/2022 00:27

Actually I've just realised I don't know what onboarding means

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/08/2022 00:28

MrsTP you might be right - what if it's 2 !

LemonSwan · 02/08/2022 00:36

14?

To clarify op, you mean how many options did you have applying as an Executive Officer for UK Civil Service?

Fuck only knows! ( I'd like to add a disclaimer here, but am currently struggling)

Eh? No, EO (in this instance) stands for equal opportunities, so the form you fill in stating various things such as race, religion, disability etc etc.

Gender ~ 3 (male/female/prefer not to say)

Sexual orientation - 4 (homosexual / heterosexual/ bisexual/prefer not to say)

Too sensible?

LK1972 · 02/08/2022 07:26

Thanks OP, mildly reassured not all's lost in CSSmile

achillestoes · 02/08/2022 09:49

I'm going for 57.

MauisLeftNipple · 02/08/2022 11:26

Gender - 17
Sexual orientation - 9
(Adds up to 26 ie all the letters of the alphabet!)

IcakethereforeIam · 02/08/2022 11:41

Bookmark, I'm on tenterhooks.

Oh, and 42, go with the classics.

DameHelena · 02/08/2022 12:00

I don't know how many but I hope they included the option to identify as a cat: meowself Grin
If I come across a form that says 'gender' not 'sex', I scribble through 'gender' and put 'my sex is female'.
