I'm not a Tory party member or a Tory voter so I get no say in whether Kemi Badenoch gets to be our Prime Minister. But none of the Labour Party front bench (apart from Milliband and Cooper) has any experience in the Cabinet so her lack of experience in Cabinet wouldn't necessarily count against her. She's been a junior minister.

Penny Mordaunt seems to be doing very well in terms of support from the party.

@Ohnohedident I would vote for Kemi - She has the intelligence, the vision, and the guts that we need right now. Clearly a strong willed character and nobody's fool. I think she'd offer a very clear contrast to Labour at the next GE, when the country gets to vote.

I understand people worried about the experience. I was at first, especially the economy, but just found out she was, I think, chief secretary to the Treasury at one point? She's GC as well, and much more pragmatic than Suella Braverman, who wants to get rid of the EHCR.

Mordaunt has been accused by officials of not meeting her responsibilities as a trade minister in order to focus on her leadership campaign for the last six months. Embarrassing, given how amateurish her video was.

I have a vote and I’m in ‘the (almost) anyone but Penny’ camp right now.

She’s either thick or duplicitous and my money’s on the latter. I’ll be horrified if she’s in the final two that we get to choose between.
