And although it doesn’t matter what racial background the next PM comes from, I would think their being a black woman would be inspirational to young people from minority ethnic groups. It would be wonderful for them to be able to see themselves represented in the highest office in the land, and by such a brilliant and brave woman.

For those wondering why she's expected to do well in the contest - a part of the Tory party thinks that she can combine Brexiteerism with being "socially liberal" - thus preserving Boris's supposed electoral coalition and preventing the loss of seats to the LibDems in the Blue Wall.

FWIW I don't think this will actually work.

But it kind of sums up my frustration with the endless debates about "who to vote for". There isn't ANY party that doesn't regard this issue as purely transactional - any of them will change their stance in a heartbeat if they think it will be to their electoral advantage.

We should support those groups working for change within parties but the main focus of activism shouldn't be here.

So sick of these women who themselves must have overcome so many barriers to enter politics and know themselves how they have to work twice as hard and be twice as good to be considered even half as competent as their male counterparts and theb they spout crap like this. Its so fucking dishonest. And one day she will wake up and discover that all the women in the room are male. Women who wont have babies or need somewhere to pump, or work whilst going through menopause and all that brings.

She is nothing more than a turkey voting for Christmas. These women are their own worst enemies. Only where they are because of all the brave women who fought so hard befire her.

Anyone who believes twaw should be made to hand over their bank card, be unable to vote, own property or be employed. Maybe then they will realise that its not and will ever be the same. That her rights are only there fir as long as men allow her to have them.

Shes clearly far to stupid to realise shes the sacrificial lamb and there will be another man quick to jump in the second she loses all credibility with stunts like this.

Why? Do you think they are worrying about identities in countries where women are jailed for having a miscarriage. Or dying if exposure in menstrual huts. Or dying because they have no male guardian to approve medical treatment.

This is all a first world problem. You do realise that transwomen are allowed to remain in the masons after transition. But transmen can't inherit titles..

Sexism continues to exist even when we pretend humans can change sex or that gender trumps sex. Funny that hey

Penny Mordaunt bears a huge amount of responsibility for Self ID from way back in Theresa May's government. Her TWAW views are, or should be, very well known.

Quite I couldn't agree more. Labour/LibDem/SNP parties have more of these idiotic women than the Tories though. At least the Tories don't have Groupthink as an actual policy.
