So tired of people expecting me to have a certain opinion because I am Black.

I really need to vent. I am so f... tired of always having to be the good black girl who is oblivious , have no opinion and loves everyone. YESS I only care about dancing, and of course I am super bubbly and fun. But somewhat, never, have an opinion that's not regarded as "tolerant".

2 of my friends (white) I, were talking about Emmanuel Macron ( Hating on the president is a national sport).

One of them starting discussing about how she wants surrogacy in France legal because it would make things more equal for gay men and trans women ( No mention of women who have infertility issues).

I told her that I am against it, because it trivializes the danger of child birth and would only lead to the exploitation of poor women. I added, gay men and trans women can (if there's no underline condition) can have children biologically.

Then of course arrived what I call "the black talk" :

  • But it is racism against transwomen
  • I thought black people were more open minded because they are subject to intolerance

I am married to a white man. One of my friend said " Oh interracial marriage was illegal at some point, so you wouldn't be pregnant if people didn't change their minf, why refuse to others what you have
I got angry and responded:
"Because I can get f**ing pregnant. I am not a man. Was the father Asian, Black, Native American, Mixed, makes no difference. I have no fertility problems so any adult "healthy" human man can get me pregnant."

Then I also made a point that they can adopt if they so want a child. Friend said " Adopting in France is hard, so gay men or transwomen would have to go for African or Asian babies, they also have the right to have biological babies".

I just left after that. So African or Asian babies are second best boohoo , poor white people. It isn't African/Asian babies fault if women's death during labour is more prevalent in their homeland. Nor if white babies are the state's property.

The black talk just continued over texting, from the slavery thing to black people are all left wings and should support minorities. No. I don't support the exploitation of women's body which will benefit men ( Gay or Transwomen). 2 men cannot have a biological child, neither can a biological men.

I am not only black I am also a woman. My race is always used against me to undermine my opinion. It p... me off so badly.

Sorry this is just a rant

Clarence Thomas is a sexual abuser, just like Brett Kavanagh. And these are the men who are deciding what women can, or can't, do with their own bodies. Vile.

Clarence Thomas shouldn't be getting (some of) the criticism he receives, but I've seen plenty of references to "handmaidens" here upon this very spot over time, and is that fair either?

I think you’re missing the important point that OP is subjected to all this racist bile for her wrong opinions from white people.

I feel like it’s not really fair to compare her to Clarence Thomas even indirectly tbh. I know there’s no harm meant but I wouldn’t like the analogy if it were my thread! So I’m not going to touch that, but I am going to say that men using “handmaidens” rubs me the wrong way. But it nearly always is women using it.

By contrast, it’s not other black people doing this to OP, it’s white people who think they’re “anti-racist,” chastising OP for having opinions they think a black person shouldn’t have. If it was other black people the dynamics would be different - I doubt they would have said such horrific things about interracial marriage and slavery, for example.

@TeiTetua that quote absolutely represents what everyone think of us. Even the fact that Joe Biden had the audacity to say " If you ain't black" if US Blacks didn't vote for him... Politicians always feel entitle to be informal and behave with familiarity when with Black people.

You have the good White people/Parties and the bad ones. Of course you have to be a good black person. Some members of my family don't even know why they vote for the socialist party "Because I am black".

TW :SOME MAY FIND MY OPINIONS EXTREME.

The left is --supposedly- more tolerant with immigrants , poor people and in general just promotes better social harmony.

Then I wondered, why do I care so much about immigrants. I am not an immigrant, I am from a French overseas territory. Well , France is in general a racist country, so when they see me , they think I am an immigrant. Nothing wrong with that, and I am not so those racist can legally do nothing to me.

I don't like EU immigration and want out of the EU. Eastern Europe is full of racist and sexist people who feel more entitled to be in France than me and are openly racist.

I used to feel a strong sense of unity with Arab immigrants. Then I realised they hated black people. So now I do not support any of their Islam or Hijab battle. I believe if it is so important to live that lifestyle, it's better they go to a muslim country. I don't want around me any culture that promotes women abuse, unwanted/forced marriages or display of false information about biological men being women. I am expecting a little girl and this

The few times I said that " BUT YOU ARE BLACK". People get very very uncomfortable and I always get the "But you're not white". Instead of challenging me on my ideas, they go straight for my race. Well at least I have never been called a racist.

Nobody want black people to educate themselves or be "selfish". You never can be a patriot. Never. But the presidential election has surprised everyone because all the overseas territories (In Carribbean and Africa) voted in majority for the far right. Hahaha. It was all over the news.

But why is it so shocking ? They have no other identity than France. They voted for the same reasons white conservatives. They are just not regarded as French. That's why.
