Anyone going to College Green this afternoon for the rally?
I am hoping to if I am feeling better - crappy cold, and hope the weather holds.

Do you not see a problem with drag queen story time? Or children being exposed to kinks at Pride? Remember the monkey-with-a-penis costume, and an entire website being scrubbed?

I do yes

yes, but so what?

this person is, indeed an adult human female, and to misquote Dworkin, feminism is for all women, even ones you don't like

Someone who posts on YT can't access the details of people who watch their videos, if that's what you're asking. Google tracks activity, and if you're logged into Google or YT it's easier to track back to you. It's for the purposes of pushing 'relevant' content at you. What are your concerns?

man alive your prejudice blinds you

woman you don't like buys a t-shirt from KJK. Does that make KJK resposible for her behaviour?

70s bovver boys bought 13 hole DMs and behaved like animals. does that make doc martens responsible for their behaviour?

Helleofabore · 25/06/2022 11:49

Helleofabore Are you trying to infer homosexuals have more tendency to ‘groom’ than heterosexuals ? If so can I please see evidence as that really is the first time I’ve heard anything of the sort.

I am not sure how you got to that from what I actually asked:

Have I missed the links to where KJK has called all homosexual people groomers?

Or that there are disproportionately more homosexual people who groom others compared to heterosexual or bisexual people?

No inferences being drawn from me but a very direct question of ‘where is the evidence?’

I recall reading a very good piece (that I seemed to have fail to bookmark) about You Tube's algorithms (amongst others) that had been highlighted in stories of gradual radicalisation as stepping stones to extremism. I can google several links about the same topic but I don't recognise the thoughtful one that I read. This recent write-up seems to argue that although the risk seemed realistic, in practice the impact seems to be limited.

arstechnica.com/science/2021/08/if-youtubes-algorithms-radicalize-people-its-hard-to-tell-from-the-data/

Earlier this year, I attended a lecture (that I failed to note better) by an author who argued that the only way to defeat inadvertently problematic algorithms is either to abstain from social media or to be more aware of curating your likes/clicks etc. because they influence not only what you are shown but what people like you are shown/offered on YT and elsewhere. (He was talking about men of his age being offered photos of young women (young teenagers) to 'like' - this was because he was following his daughter's instagram.)

LaughingPriest · 25/06/2022 11:54

this behaviour from Tommy Robinson, Anne Marie Waters etc is why you have black clad anti-fascist demonstrators turning up at KJK events

Sorry, assume I am stupid. Can you spell out very clearly the cause and effect here?

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 25/06/2022 11:57

I'm not trying to convince you, but this behaviour from Tommy Robinson, Anne Marie Waters etc is why you have black clad anti-fascist demonstrators turning up at KJK events

That feels a little simplistic to me as, in my experience, violent young men rarely need much of a cover story for their actions (thinking back to the days of The Firm and the pitched battles associated with football) but it's obviously sufficient for you.

Straightforward overview but this is a mass of research in this area:

I'm not trying to convince you,

that's probably for the best

I presuming you're a woman?

maybe consider why you want to blame another woman for the actions of men?

yes, again, that's all about what other people do

do you have anything based on what KJK herself has done?

or a non edited version of something she's said?

@getcheesytime It would be helpful if you would be explicit about your point. I've actually no idea why you think that's a response to my point but I care less about that than your wider point and what it is you're arguing for.

Here's AMW's For Britain Movement page sharing a video from Carl Benjamin's podcast about the Bristol demonstration calling them Antifa (Anti fascist) in the title.

Young men are going to accept invitations to a fight for many premises.

I wonder if there are screen shots of antifa encouraging young men to turn up?

What is your wider point?

ScreamingMeMe · 25/06/2022 12:32

the pampers do not represent the vast majority of trans people though.

And yet I haven't seen ANY calling out their behaviour. Quite the opposite in fact. They apply the same DARVO tactics you are trying here.

334bu · 25/06/2022 12:44

Anti-fascist protesters (Black Pampers) are turning up at KJK events because far-right organisations are (not directly) encouraging them.

Sorry I am confused are you saying that far right groups are encouraging Antifa to attack women's events?

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 25/06/2022 12:58

Yes indirectly, by posting about and supporting KJK's events in their telegram channels etc anti-facists are associating these events with the far right.

May I ask, have you ever attended a demonstration or march where a bunch of people with whom you didn't agree turned up with placards and inserted themselves in a pile of photo opps so they could claim ownership of that event? Eg, SWP does this. You might be a member of SWP for all I know, but have you ever construed that to mean that everyone in that march agrees with SWP?

A bunch of people making associations doesn't actually make it true.

This feels like a re-run of immersive fictions versus material reality.

picklemewalnuts · 25/06/2022 13:02

"Yes indirectly, by posting about and supporting KJK's events in their telegram channels etc anti-facists are associating these events with the far right."

But why is that women's fault? I asked similar earlier. Why is it, if I state 2+2 is 4 and racists cheer in agreement, that you hold me responsible for racism?
