Yes, there were questions about what they meant by women, but there were also questions about misogyny in politics, the abuse faced by Rosie Duffield and joanna cherry.

It struck me Stella didn't want to talk about any of those issues, she was just here to drum up support for her this mums votes campaign.

She wasn't here to listen or engage.

The way Stella conducts herself on line is disgraceful but nothing justifies the misogynistic abuse she has received from some people. If only she could make the connection between her sex and the abuse.

I'm actually embarrassed for Creasy now. She's really doubling down. Quote tweeting JKR's tweet about luxury beliefs and saying she presumes JKR is talking about her is just the height of narcissism.

I've always voted Labour. I so want to get rid of this government at the next election. But MPs like Stella just make me despair. I'm seriously thinking about not voting at the next election. It's such a sorry state of affairs.

Even if Stella believes this nonsense - and I don't think she does, she's not daft - how can she not see that it's electoral suicide? It's doing so much damage to the Labour Party. I know lots of people who live in Stella's constituency who tell me they despair. Some of them have tried to discuss this issue with her in the past but she just wouldn't listen.

The point @Floisme makes is true - next time Starmer tries to square the circle I will just think of Stella Creasey saying that words such as woman and female have no fixed meanings. It’s all just a JCR debating game to them. This is no good. I have been postponing this, but I will now finally have to leave the Labour Party. Words have to mean something, material reality has to count for something.

Beyond the hothouses of Twitter and even Mumsnet, Creasy is coming seriously unstuck.

Take a look at the Roll on Friday law forums with a thread about 'Stella Creasy is gr8 isn’t she?' whereupon it becomes immediately obvious that, other than the OP, the subscribers absolutely don't reckon she's 'gr8'. Indeed Creasy pretty much gets a universal panning. And there's one comment (from 'Lucy van Pelt') which encapsulates just why Labour hasn't been able to take a commanding lead in the polls against a hopeless government.
