Are we explicitly banned from mentioning it? The Special Rules do not display on the app.

I'm actually playing the Glasgow rules, Mayor. Which are, of course, running like clockwork as usual.

MagnoliaTaint · 26/05/2022 11:52

and it can mean we end up going round in circles. This is why the Overground Loop set of additional rules was introduced in around 1996, I believe.

'In the era of the English Civil War and on the date of 23 December 1642 some of the prominent gentlemen of Cheshire met in B. and drew up the B. Agreement. The terms of the agreement were intended to keep Cheshire neutral during the English Civil War. It proved to be a forlorn hope because the national strategic importance of Cheshire and the city port of Chester meant that national interests overruled local ones.'

If Bunbury has become too contentious, perhaps we should try Basingstoke instead? (That's a Gilbert&Sullivan reference denoting dull respectability)

There are threads about the fictional village Badley Fuckitt still knocking around somewhere on FWR, but with the recent upgrade breaking advanced search it might as well be one of those lost Mayan temples.

Dunno about blue but there is a dark type of hill and a while type of hill in them their hills.

Yeah, two types of peak.

Oldham Mumps.

I have no clue.

Beamur · 27/05/2022 00:05

Named after an Anglo Saxon tribe rather than the hills apparently.

Well... you can just use a normal search engine, you know, especially for a distinctive name.

No idea what you're on about but it has a pub called The Yew Tree that does a gorgeous fish sharing platter and a lovely veggie burger. I think I'll pop in for lunch during half term. Thanks for the reminder.

The link to the Special Rules for Unruly Women has disappeared from the web version of this Board too.

Yet another Elephant Trap for the unwary. Very unfair on new members, who will be unaware of the existence of the Special Rules for Policing Women's Speech.

There is a link buried and therefore easily overlooked in the "Talk Guidelines".

As can be seen from the URL, this is one of those "Trans Rights" that merits a tick in the check-box on the "To Do" list:

"Mumsnet moderation principles for discussions around gender identity and sex"
Mumsnet will always stand in solidarity with vulnerable or oppressed minorities.
