On now. I don’t know who this guy is who is speaking but he’s just said, “It ain’t fair and it’s not right” and he is a LEGEND.

Watch and comment!

Freer turns to sport. Government is clear that sporting bodies can decide their own rules.

Sport now. Cripes, they're running through every related tangent.

MagnoliaTaint · 23/05/2022 17:48

gay footballers.

WHAT ABOUT NONBINARIES? Actually feeling a bit sorry for them, now.

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 17:48

For some reason Freer is on gay men in professional football now. Mystifying!

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 17:49

Me too. Didn’t 100,000 people sign the petition to get Freer to chat on about nearly everything else because he hasn’t got a clue about their actual concerns?

'It's been a good debate'

Crikey.

MagnoliaTaint · 23/05/2022 17:51

It's been an hour and a half of fact-free tangential waffle and pish.

WarriorN · 23/05/2022 17:52

One of them needs to refer to Gluck's research on eunuch identities and the eunuch archive website that WPATH has apparently drawn evidence from.

(It's a written porn website.)

MagnoliaTaint · 23/05/2022 17:52

All done. There we go. Off you pop.

WarriorN · 23/05/2022 17:52

With a great deal of paedophilic writing.

MagnoliaTaint · 23/05/2022 17:53

Well, that was a wasted opportunity. Miriam Cates was excellent as ever, I feel she's wasted on debates like this, though.

That was supposed to discuss legal representation of non-binary people - nothing I saw even came close. If I was non-binary (which I am, on Wednesdays) I'd be quite pissed off.

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 17:56

I think Freer is just treading water in his role in Trade, knowing that if Labour get into power, gender self-ID will be brought in anyway. He knows he won’t be able to do it with a Tory government.

What do they imagine will be achieved by introducing laws that deny reality? There isn't a third sex and never will be. You might as well pass a law declaring the earth is a cube. Have a unanimous vote, it still won't be true.

WarriorN · 23/05/2022 17:56

Ah my day is Thursdays. Though can vary depending on pollen count.

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 23/05/2022 17:58

Oh, phone calls. I am just catching up.

Understanding roles can't blody happen if you cannot define 'it'.

What is NON BINARY FFS!?

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 23/05/2022 18:01

And we pay for that because some fdaft sods got a petition...

Next week the Grand National Committee needs to allow unicorns

And a non-binary passport would have to be accepted by every other country in the world to be useful! Good luck with that.

Don't give these people ideas.

Not too much forward-thinking going on about going on holidays over-seas. Or working abroad for charities say, to support Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 18:12

I’m happy for people to describe their ‘gender identity’ as non-binary. I see no reason for that to have anything to do with their passport. Passports are an identification document; nothing unverifiable should be on there.

Most of the debate doesn't even have anything to do with non-binary recognition and is entirely about the usual grievances towards trans women.

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 18:22

‘Most of the debate doesn't even have anything to do with non-binary recognition and is entirely about the usual grievances towards trans women.’

The two are connected, obviously. The complexities in law thrown up by the GRA should not be furthered by more foolish legislation.

As an erstwhile Labour supporter, I am sorry to say Annaliese Dodds was by far the weakest speaker.

MagnoliaTaint · 23/05/2022 17:29

jobs in catering should be open to non binary people too.

Okay.

🤯

WarriorN · 23/05/2022 18:33

I am reminded of a clip years ago, before I knew about where a young woman who identified as non binary gave an impassioned speech to Obama.

Who paused and gathered his thoughts ally before replying in a slightly bemused way.

That always struck me as at the time I was conditioned to believe in #be kind to these people and didn't really understand what it was all about. I was surprised by his reaction which I thought would be more serious (I don't remember his diplomatic response.)

So I do believe for some of these politicians they really haven't and effing jeffing clue what they're actually debating.

Others do. And some do but can't admit it due to the party line.
