And a support worker as well. Utterly ridiculous. Apparently a last minute request as well.

I know this is likely to be covered in the ongoing threads following Allison Bailey's courtcase, but this seemed sufficiently bonkers to warrant its own thread!!

OP posts:

On a Zoom call as well. This guy is on £44k per annum in a senior position at nationwide charity. How does he function in the actual world.

tabbycatstripy · 12/05/2022 11:41

Watching KM give evidence was a weird, sad experience tbh. You could see how some vulnerable people have been grievously misled into incorrect positions.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 12/05/2022 11:42

KM is autistic although this wasn't disclosed in the tribunal. Also KM uses he/they pronouns but did not start life with those pronouns. As they said under oath, sex changes across the human lifecycle.

RhannionKPSS · 12/05/2022 11:49

I’m sorry, I’ve no sympathy for KM.
The damage Stonewall have done to many women & children over the past while is going to take ages to undo.

What does ‘sex changes across the human lifecycle’ mean?

Cheekymaw · 12/05/2022 11:57

Could understand one of the supports but the maw and the support worker and the dog !! How do these people get such well paying jobs ? That's a salary not to be sniffed at ! I say indulge them all they like - this is shining the light of the absolute narcissistic and indulgent nature of gender ideology! Good luck Allison Bailey btw !.

Fenlandia · 12/05/2022 11:58

Do they all drink the same stupid? You can see more of the same via a current twitter thread of the wonderful Emma Hilton twitter.com/FondOfBeetles/status/1524512566931767296

Apparently post-menopausal women are "not that far removed from clown fish" 😂

Igmum · 12/05/2022 12:04

So I'm a clownfish now? Tbh I prefer that to being labelled by body parts. I quite like clownfish.

Igmum · 12/05/2022 12:05

But yes, to focus on the actual OP, what senior manager brings their mum with them? Give that poor woman clownfish a day off for pity's sake

IcakethereforeIam · 12/05/2022 12:06

Puberty...fertility...menopause?

I kinda feel sorry for KM, they seem pathetic. But they're an adult, in a well paid job, doing things that have consequences for other people, not always very nice consequences. In this instance it's had consequences for theyselves.

Incidentally, I think separate threads for things like this is an excellent idea. Save derailing main thread and poss., having it taken down.

Talliah · 12/05/2022 12:09

It is vastly irresponsible of Stonewall to have placed such a vulnerable individual in this position. For some people, this level of responsibility is simply too much and it would appear that KM falls into that category.

ItsDinah · 12/05/2022 12:11

Sounds just like a certain highly litigious Canadian Transactivist, who recently presented a letter from Mum as evidence in a Tribunal case. I think court refused to entertain the faux assistance dog: it was very badly behaved.

Artichokeleaves · 12/05/2022 12:37

When you reflect that the average assistant head teacher, with all of the training and professional responsibility on them, is averaging around 10k less than this...?

I had sympathy at first for what was obviously a vulnerable adult, but if you are appointed to a 44k job in a leadership role, and the job description specifies being an excellent communicator...? Stonewall have absolutely bin-fired their PR and reputation. You cannot train MI5 with apparent competence to do so while looking and behaving publicly in court procedings as if you're vulnerable service users on a youth project.

I'm in a similarly paid job, and wouldn't expect to be getting cross examined in court for work but unfortunately had to re a crime I witnessed. I do my job perfectly well but would probably go to pieces if I had to go to court again. Don't know whether the manager is or is not a prat, but shouldn't go making assumptions about needing support to testify.

SpindleInTheWind · 12/05/2022 15:39

Well it's all out there now. Numerous newspaper articles. No doubt magazines like the Speccie and online current affairs websites to follow. Maybe Private Eye and a mention on HIGNFY. No-one's putting this cat back in the bag.

Eelicks · 12/05/2022 15:49

It's on public record (I believe KM's own social media) that KM has autism. There are also (again publicly available) videos of KM training his/their agility dog.

I go to some events for a disability charity and the adults with autism always seem on the surface to be very capable (which im sure they are in lots of ways) but once you chat to them more you realise how vulnerable they are in certain ways as well. Extremely naiive easily led and will believe some very strange ideas to be literally true (not understanding metaphors/nuance etc). KM strongly reminded me of this watching the testimony - KM literally believes the supposed metaphor of "transwomen are women" to be true without a hint of irony.

In that light I think it's extremely irresponsible and almost cruel that Stonewall has put KM in this position. Set him/them off on enforcing the dogma knowing they will do it blindly and without question, then throw them under the bus if it ever comes back on Stonewall. The fact KM was allowed to go rogue when Stonewall must have known KM's bonkers views about reality is absolutely insane.

Beamur · 12/05/2022 16:27

Being a court witness, let alone a key witness such as KM is very stressful. It does rather suggest they're struggling if they're needing multiple people and animals to handle this.

Yes, because poor mental health leaves you alone if you earn over 40 grand. 🙄
Seriously not OK with people ridiculing mental health issues, saw some vile comments on Twitter earlier as saw Stonewall trending
It just makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with some people to make fun and belittle like that.
I'd never heard of support dogs before, but now I have I think they sound like a great idea for people who suffer from anxiety or depression.

unwashedanddazed · 12/05/2022 17:34

Support dogs are amazing and can change people's lives. However my understanding is that the dog in question is an agility dog trained by it's owner. That's not a support dog it's just a comfort to him. Same as his mum being there.

puffyisgood · 12/05/2022 17:45

I think KM is very heavily misguided about a number of things, but don't think (s)he is really senior enough, and possibly not really compos mentis enough, to be exposed to public scrutiny like this. KM's boss, or boss's boss, should surely have been the one up there?

VaddaABeetch · 12/05/2022 17:46

44k is not a lot when you have to pay your mum, your support person & your dog.

Admittedly I've not been watching or following as closely as some, but I thought KM was witness because they are the one who wrote the email to GCC (the email with all the "yourselves") telling GCC to do something about Allison.

theemperorhasnoclothes · 12/05/2022 19:28

I asked on the main thread but no-one answered.

Did KM's Mum have a name or is she/zie/they/him/xir (as I assume no-one bothered to ask their pronouns) only referred to as a support human to KM?

theemperorhasnoclothes · 12/05/2022 19:31

Also is 'Mum' transphobic? I thought it was 'birthing people' these days.

theemperorhasnoclothes · 12/05/2022 19:32

Yes I think KM tried to have AB fired (essentially, I know it's a bit more nuanced) so my sympathy for KM is limited.
