Looking at period pants - and the first review is this.

Clearly getting a sexual thrill - and M&S have given it a platform. I reported, but still live - so I guess M&S are happily going along with this.

Greasy in their counter posts has actually made this whole thing a lot more revolting than it started out as. Vanilla fetishes 🤮 . He/she has actually in arguing so vehemently made people more revolted by the original issue as if often the case with these things.

EricCartmansMagicalUnderpants · 25/03/2022 11:39

The last M&S I went to had booths that could be locked. I don't know if there's a way to know in advance which shops have curtains and which don't, though.

It doesn't matter either way. Born males need to stay out of the women's changing areas. Biology doesn't give a shit about their gender identity. If they need to get changed then the correct changing area for them is the men's.

Indeed. Sometimes people ask why one should bother responding at all, it's so obviously nonsense.

But if there's one thing I've learnt, the biggest promoter of gender critical feminism is a committed transactivist.

You barely have to respond. Just let them talk.

Tortabella · 25/03/2022 12:36

chickenstripper greasy has to be gender critical & playing dumb, there's no way anyone is that dense and annoying on purpose.

Not every store has stand alone booths, and even if they do, simply because men have access they could very easily put a camera in one.

A male cleaner could put a camera in a changing room. A woman could put a camera in a changing room.

In the tesco and Asda etc you can buy multipacks of knickers that are obviously sealed and have tamper proof seals at that.

You could also buy your underwear online, which means it probably hasn't been displayed in a shop.

You are literally an idiot,

Sigh again.

Yes we've been through this too. I'm off to bunbury.

First of all, the question of changing rooms is going off on a tangent. The man in the original review clearly refers to himself as a cross dresser, so he would be using the men's changing rooms in M&S.

Second, removing transgender women from women's changing rooms does basically nothing to stop the questions of privacy in changing rooms. As I already said, cleaners or women could still take pictures in changing rooms. However, in men's changing rooms, you have men, boys, and sometimes girls if their father has brought them along. A sex offender can still do plenty of damage in the men's changing rooms.

I think focusing in on transgender women is missing the forest because of the trees. The overarching issue is the problem of sexual offences being committed in changing rooms, not transgender women being in women's changing rooms per se.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 25/03/2022 15:12

Talking about this thread IRL, the suggestion was made that M&S probably do have a line in the sand beyond which they will remove reviews. It's just not where women would want it to be.

Then we had a go at coming up with reviews they would probably
remove, which was fun. We left the world of male kinks far behind & moved on to murder, drug running, money laundering & bringing down the government. Didn't post any, of course, but it was a laugh.

1235 thumb down now…

Amazed at the impact MN is having. Incl from lurkers (which I’m normally part of!)

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 25/03/2022 15:26

Yes, we don't mind so much our words and complicated bits of law - but when they come for our comfy knickers. WELL, THAT'S IT!

Tortabella · 25/03/2022 16:12

greasypalms or whatever your name is. Read the room and remove yourself. You are beyond tedious.

WellNotReally · 25/03/2022 16:17

Not allowing any males in women's changing rooms is safer for women. That's what matters greasy.

WeWillLookBack · 25/03/2022 16:31

greasypalms - so what is a Trans Woman ?

Is it any man that says he is ?

Woman DO NOT WANT men in female on spaces - however they identify. That is it.

I got a considered response from the M&S team after emailing [email protected].

My concerns were safe guarding vulnerable members of the community, teen girls and older women, along with brand values.

It's a professional response, obviously it might get shared on social media!

Obviously the review is still up, so I guess it chimes with their brand values in a way that my refused review , around five years ago didn't. Perhaps mine was too short?

I'm surprised you think that. To me, the response sounds like a stock response and quite dismissive.

Feelingoktoday · 25/03/2022 19:03

Young, embarrassed girls do NOT want to read reviews by a man. That’s enough to stop them wearing them, their mums buying them and therefore yet again restricting girls by men’s behaviour.

KittenKong · 25/03/2022 19:12

The mealy mouthed ‘we arrive to be inclusive’ when it means women and girls are chased out. F*** cheek of him. I hope his mum/gran tells him straight.

internetpersonme · 25/03/2022 19:13

Absolutely repulsive.

Its not so much the buying of womens underwear that's so wrong you cannot stop people going into shops buying stuff and doing what they wish with the products on sale.

This review is forcing their kink onto unconsenting viewers so is similar to flashing. As someone upthread pointed out these products are purchased by teenagers. The fact marks and Spencer is willing to allow this sort of review is really disturbing.

This persons not only getting off on what they do in their own home they're enjoying making others feel uncomfortable.

No more m and s for me thanks. I usually buy school uniform from there!

internetpersonme · 25/03/2022 19:18

If only the daily mail would pick up on this thread!

Westfacing · 25/03/2022 19:20

Says it all really.

You got a much longer response than I did! I wonder how many emails from MNers they had.
