They're at it again. You'd think the last couple of weeks would have highlighted the value of being able to say your reporting was balanced and free from political bias, but there you go.

Not sure what you mean, but from what I've seen from the hashtag, a lot of gay and trans people are simply making it clear that JKR doesn't speak for them.

Rowling seems to be implying that she's on the side of gay people and listens to them, but only if they share her viewpoint it seems.

Loads of TRAs have many women and LGBT people blocked. They even share massive blocklists around. Owen Jones must have about a third of all twitter accounts blocked by now, including women, LGBT people and people of colour. What are we to make of that? Hmm

The main reason I don't engage at all on Twitter is because I know for a fact that if I post anything that disagrees with the likes of Paisley, Comerford, Jones etc I will be immediately blocked on sight. And even if I don't tweet them directly, I know they use blocklists which even use who you are following to block you. And I don't want to end up in my own Twitter echo chamber, I want to be able to see (and pull apart) the opposing viewpoints, but I know I won't be able to do this if I start following and posting anything at all.

So it's a bit fucking rich slagging off JKR for blocking David Paisley.

The only one who actually appears to engage a bit and not just immediately block on first sight of a disagreeing opinion is Katy Montgomerie.

Just a reminder that I saw just as many feminists and LGB people tweeting the ‘doesn’tspeakforme’ hashtag because they genuinely feel they want their own voice heard. But are fully in support of Jo Rowling.

Just because it is trending doesn’t mean it is all negative.

She keeps knocking it put of the park. She has gone full blown GC. She has signal boosted detrans awareness day (which wss trending on US twitter, Marg) and is supporting LGB people who are sick of being called transphobic because of their sexuality.

I see the pitchfork mob are going after Emma Watson again (who has previously spoken up in support of trans-rights), led by the DM who refer to her as "woke brat" in the headline.

So can they be trusted, or not? Should the Mail be used as evidence that “the pitchfork mob” are after Watson, or not? Or is it just that they called her a “woke brat”- but that’s ok, surely, because they can’t be trusted, so she obviously isn’t, right?
