They're at it again. You'd think the last couple of weeks would have highlighted the value of being able to say your reporting was balanced and free from political bias, but there you go.

God, Laurie Penny is so draining. Just been reading some of the tweets, don't know who Laurie Penny is as never heard of her before but think it's bloody horrible taking the piss out of someone's mental health which a lot of people were doing in the comments.
Also some of them were utterly fawningly bizarre, '' Yaaaaass Our Queen! '' was one (no seriously) its obsessively weird.
I must just not get Mean Girl mentality which is how all of this comes across.

Honestly, I just don't understand why so many people indulge LP with all the attention, even if negative. I never heard of LP before the LA spa comment, so may not have any historic admiration for any contribution in the past, but since then every tweet I have read has been indulgent and boring. Why is LP followed by so many??

(I am likely to be as boring, but don't expect people to respond to me, and am pleasantly surprised with any occasional likes.)

Twitter is Mean Girls, as far as I can tell.

But it is very difficult to have sympathy for people who claim they have PTSD because of poor book reviews, when they told women to just avoid looking at unexpected penises in women's changing areas. And frankly it is a little angering anyway. I have a close family member who was affected by spending months pulling bits of bodies out of wells in a war zone.Trauma from bad book reviews. Fuck off.

If LP’s mental health is so very poor, then LP should focus on improving that and nurture LP’s self - and Twitter is hardly the place to do that. I’m afraid that is the extent of my sympathy for a person who berated a young girl who was flashed by a sexual predator by saying she should not have been so rude as to have been looking at his penis (despite it being semi-erect in front of her face)….

I think what you are missing here is that LP claimed to have recovered from her C-PTSD after a week. She also self diagnosed with turner's syndrome. Pretty offensive really.

While showing a lack of empathy for other's trauma by calling JKs sharing of her experiences of DV a "public spasm of self delusion" and saying the the 9 year old victim of a sex offender was rude to look at the semi erect penis.

That's why she is getting such a hard time on Twitter.
