""Excluding trans women is discrimination. It's really that simple. "Sex-based" discrimination is discrimination, even if you agree with it.""".
So excluding transwomen from a cervical smear is discrimination? Not inviting them to a mammogram is discrimination? Not giving them the HPV vaccine at school is discriminating? These are all things that are sex based, and yet none of them will ever be relevant to transwomen.
Why is that?
As for "woman" being a "socially constructed gender identity" - I'm sure all the women on a post natal ward are in awe of their socially constructed bodies which have just produced a child with their socially constructed uterus made from an egg with their socially constructed ovaries.
Next time I have period pain I will inform my socially constructed uterus to stop cramping.
Woman is a biological definition. It's a statement of fact. It's not opt-in or opt-out.
Woman has meant adult human female since language was invented. A few vocal men are really not going to change it.
I know that's very upsetting for some delicate people to hear, but it doesn't make it less true.
