"Lesbians a look at women in changing rooms too"

This is the latest TRA response -
Some variation of "it's ok for men to share intimate spaces with women because lesbians and female predators exist too."

And shockingly I'm seeing women posting this usually then joined by the NotAllMenMan saying NotAllMen.

If I'm in a changing room, I'd rather be surrounded by an army of lesbians than next to 1 'woman' with a penis....

Figrolls14 · 08/02/2022 14:23

“Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.” Both well founded! One a bit more weighty in the balance. Why is this so hard to take on board?

LaBellina · 08/02/2022 14:26

I have never been harassed by a lesbian but I have been by plenty of males. There lies the difference. I think 99.9% of women agrees with me on this.

1Micem0use · 08/02/2022 14:31

I'm bi. When I lived in Asia I regularly went to bathhouses where everyone was stark naked. No clothes allowed. I didnt spend my time ogling anyone or making anyone feel uncomfortable. I was there for a nice soak and a sauna. If I was more athletic itd be the same in the gym chanting room.

QueenSue · 08/02/2022 14:34

It's not new - they've used that argument before when plopping up on MN. All that argument is saying is "I'm pornsick and don't know how women actually behave".

Fluffymule · 08/02/2022 14:46

So much homophobia being exposed by the TRA & MRA attacks on women’s sex based rights and safeguarding.

Trying to erase the reality of sex itself so that same sex attraction becomes ‘impossible’ and ‘transphobic’ in itself.

Then saying that same sex attracted women, Lesbians, have the same threat level to women as men.

Gender is neither a sex or a sexuality.

As a lesbian, being surrounded by an army of lesbians sounds positively great. I still wouldn't perve on them.
UserBot9to5 · 08/02/2022 16:01

Wow. So ridiculous.

Abhannmor · 08/02/2022 16:39

Oh ffs not this crap again. Gareth Thomas the great rugby player is gay. Someone asked if it caused problems in the changing room in his playing days. He said ' Because I'm gay it doesn't mean I fancy just anyone you know!' This is just creepy straight guys trying to use their jaundiced view of lesbians to crowbar their way into women's spaces. I'm a bloke btw

TheWeeDonkey · 08/02/2022 16:45

It's that Porkys fantasy creeping out again isn't it. Creeping being the operative word. No need to indulge it.

RestingStitchFace · 08/02/2022 17:01

@SapphosRock - absolutely. (Please don't think I was suggesting otherwise.)

Deliriumoftheendless · 08/02/2022 18:00

I would guess most lesbians have experienced unwanted staring/harassment and don’t want to do that to other women. Even if they find them attractive.

Exactly. It's on a par with pillow fights and braiding hair, ffs.

What the fuck is wrong with them??

QueenSue · 08/02/2022 18:18

I'm bi and I would never want to make a random woman uncomfortable by staring at her body. I don't have the time to ogle women in changing rooms anyway because I'm too busy doing my thing and worrying about my own body issues.

QueenSue · 08/02/2022 18:20

Datun Funny how attached they are to those tropes even after being told by real women that it's not something women and girls actually do.

terryleather · 08/02/2022 18:30

This is the whole thing though isn't it, none of it's about real actual females and their lives it's purely ideas and fantasies in a man's head.

Men are whatever men say they are, women are whatever men say they are.

dietpepsi13 · 08/02/2022 21:36

As a lesbian, I have never ogled a woman in a changing room. I have too much respect for women. Also like heterosexual people, lesbians do not feel attracted to every woman they come across. This is just more homophobia

GlomOfNit · 08/02/2022 22:07

@Pluvia

It's that male fantasy, isn't it, that expectation that women's changing rooms are full of fit women eyeing each other up, helping each other out of their sports bras and lycra and going off to the showers together to have steamy sex. Pouty lingering looks and 'Would you rub body lotion into my breasts for me, please?'

Whereas we, being women, know that women's changing rooms contain rather a lot of women trying to change discreetly without being seen to stare at each other's stretchmarks and bellies and breasts of varying degrees of sagginess. And most of us are mentally planning what we can rustle up for dinner that night, or trying to work out how many calories we've just burned off, or how to deal with the office psycho, or how we're going to find the money to pay the electricity bill or wondering where we can get replacement school shoes.

I'm a lesbian. I don't stare at other women in the changing rooms. I hope I've never made any woman feel uncomfortable, particularly if she's feeling vulnerable and exposed in public. Oh, and I'm really furious that pointing out that I use women's changing rooms should be seen as some kind of justification for men doing so too.

This really says what I wanted to say. It's all just projection. Lesbians like women, and some of the men assume this therefore means they behave and think like men. The steamy women's locker room is a really hackneyed male fantasy, fed by trite porn plots and stupid, unimaginative movies. You only have to read some of the stuff written by the would-be sack-waxee in chief to realise what a deeply ingrained fantasy it is - women asking each other for tampons, for assistance ...

I think my gym days are over now, but I have never, ever felt intimidated by another woman in a changing room. Not only do I not believe in the myth of the predatory lesbian, I don't believe that lesbians act towards women the way some men act towards women. This is just a homophobic slur. Women don't kill other women at a rate of 2 /3 a week. Women don't rape other women. Women don't follow other women home to intimidate them.

Slothtoes · 08/02/2022 22:59

Completely agree with everyone else on this. This is just total lesbophobic bollocks.

It doesn’t actually matter what any of our sexual orientations are as women when we’re in an environment with other women- be they lesbians or bisexual women or straight women or not sure or whatever. We even don’t need to know each other’s sexual preferences for fucks sake. We just need to know that we’re all women in that space. Adult human females.

We know we’re all safe as women in female-only spaces, be they a bar, a a sauna, a nightclub, a taxi, a changing room, the ladies’ toilets, whatever wherever.

It’s just not about female sexuality. It’s 100% about male sexual entitlement and as females, us being at risk of male sexual violence.

It’s 100% about some very creepy people who seem to believe it’s the duty of women and girls to be exposed to male sexual entitlement and to the risk of male sexual violence, purely to keep other people happy. Hmm

Musomama1 · 09/02/2022 09:38

Since when do women get arrested for forcing themselves onto other women? Isn't that the kind of thing Stonewall, as a LGBT etc advocate would be blasting out of the water?

Further proof Stonewall doesn't bother to think about lesbians.

Stonewall tells lesbian women that they are transphobic for not being open to reframe TW's very male genitalia as female, because the TW is now a woman.

Berthatydfil · 09/02/2022 15:39

I imagine that some men may think “the lesbians in changing rooms exchanging a look followed by their clothes falling off” really happens but in reality it’s nothing more than a porn fantasy
