I couldn’t care less about the scouts, they were lame when I was a kid and I wouldn’t have dreamed of going and I assume they’re even more so now what with the bearded ladies and feminists bossing the poor lads around.

Yes, they have to learn to make fires using discarded bras for kindling, earn badges for noisily protesting outside male only spaces and have to pledge their allegiance to Queen Germaine Greer.

For the record, I agree with Horowitz's support of Rowling. If he were also to tweet that Scouts is lame and now run by bossy bearded feminazis, I would disagree with him but defend his right to post shite.

I would like to know why a poster is being so transphobic as to make a point of mentioning the person that was a scout leader who was connected to Maya's court case.

If ploppy is going to be deleted, it is likely for highlighting the 'bearded ladies'. I mean that sounds like a very targeted remark.

You don’t have britbox? How can you live without an Apple TV? Just get one and get all available channels, it’s well worth it. They even include a lot of old stuff people from echo chambers haven’t got banned yet. All of Horowitz best TV work is on there! Im finishing of a midsummer murders I started with dinner, Troy is the best assistant (had chicken burger and chips, having an iced chai tea now, just typing as I pop into the pantry for a few dark Ferraro). Showed my girl the thread and she was shocked at how behind the times and unaware folks were - we had a good laugh!Smile

I wonder if Plopper's partner realises she is called 'my girl' and 'my babe' whether she understands how male's have a history of using that to infantilise grown women and, in the past, to convey ownership.

I am sure she finds it a wonderful thing though and that she is laughing at how cutting edge Plopper is.

Maybe she'd like to come on and interpret Plopper's posts for us so we can find the coherent train of thought instead of just rambling sentences.

Can you cite an example of anyone on this board calling for the banning of TV shows?

Personally I was intrigued by the poster who said she was re-watching Buffy with her teenage daughter, and using it as a starting point for discussing unhealthy relationships. I've also had an interesting debate about female characters on NCIS, and crime drama in general. Banning wasn't mentioned.

I think Sixteen Candles has dated terribly, but I wouldn't prevent teen girls watching it at a sleepover. I'd love to see their reactions.
