Thinking of her and her family and friends.

"She was probably the smartest and wisest woman I knew. She was just a simple, loving, amazing woman. I've never seen anyone compare to her, her parenting, as a person, her heart.'

And Bethany and her son.

"Prosecutor Katherine Goddard QC said despite two restraining orders, Boulton ‘continued to contact Bethany – by telephone, by text message, by social media messages, and by unannounced and uninvited visits to her home’."

Two restraining orders. Why wasnt he jailed as soon as he breached them? Why are the rights of vicious male aggressors put ahead of female victims every time?

bishophaha · 03/02/2022 11:08

It's so disgusting. Why is this continuing?
Genuinely, why isn't there a mass UK-wide campaign to stop this? Nearly a year ago the Graun/Observer launched a campaign against femicide. Nothing ever changes though! What will it take?

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/mar/07/the-observer-view-we-can-no-longer-turn-away-femicide-must-be-tackled-now

Rest in peace poor women.

I don't know, bishop. I honestly am scared for my DD. What can women fucking do? What can we do? I can't stand this, it feels like mothers raise daughters as fodder for violent men and no fucker even ever mentions the issue, let alone tries to do anything to stop it or change these men or tackle it. Nothing.

RIP Bethany. Flowers

'The British government is reluctant to employ the word “femicide”. In 2016, for instance, its response to a UN document on femicide failed to directly mention it.'

FUCKING NAME IT.

I'm thinking of all these women and of Fawziyah Javed who died along with her unborn son, whose due date would have been tomorrow.

So many women. It breaks my heart

IKeptYouLikeAnOath · 03/02/2022 18:44

This is awful. I'm so lost this week, so down about how viciously, and how many men utterly despise us.

The deaths, the rapist footballers, the Met texts that were leaked. They hate us so much. And it feels like there's absolutely nothing we can do about it.

Feelingoktoday · 03/02/2022 18:47

Every week more and more women are murdered. So very sad. Is it on the increase?

foxlover47 · 03/02/2022 18:58

Breaks me , a lovely kind normal every day to day woman , mother , cousin , sister , friend , school run mum just wiped p it , by a c**t who has a restraining order , who had stalked her.
Why the hell isn't more done ?
I knew a lady who lost her daughter this way , In her own home , with her kids present last year ...
When will stalking and restraining orders help the women they are meant to be protecting
Sleep tight Yasmin 💔

foxlover47 · 03/02/2022 18:59

@IKeptYouLikeAnOath exactly all of what you wrote :(

DomesticatedZombie · 03/02/2022 19:05

I feel like we should strike. I feel like people need to be talking about this ffs.

A woman's strike. When is IWD? March?

And RIP Lucy Powell, 21, mum of two very young children, murdered by her 47 year old partner last week.

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/lucy-powell-murder-birmingham-b2006678.html

It’s heartbreaking, and it just goes on and on and on.

Waitwhat23 · 03/02/2022 19:21

When will stalking and restraining orders help the women they are meant to be protecting

In Yasmin's case, the Police didn't act on a warrant for a stalking order breach between 4th January and when he attacked on 24th January. He was clearly violent and a threat to her. As her cousin said 'I think I would asked why her case wasn't a priority'.

Clearly stalking and restraining orders aren't worth anything whatsoever if the Police don't act on them. It's a fucking disgrace.

foxlover47 · 03/02/2022 19:21

So many lovely ladies being murdered all over the place

foxlover47 · 03/02/2022 19:22

@Waitwhat23 it is a complete faliure of duty of care surely ? They make a big thing about applying to the court for one and for what ??!! To let them carry on greasing and murdering the women they are legally bound to protect
