Thinking of her and her family and friends.

"She was probably the smartest and wisest woman I knew. She was just a simple, loving, amazing woman. I've never seen anyone compare to her, her parenting, as a person, her heart.'

@Monitaurus

I really don’t know how we can stop men doing this. I think we at least can advise our daughters not to get involved romantically or sexually with any men, as they cannot ever be sure they are not the 1in 10 men or one of the 3 plus victims a week. Men are not safe and until they can be trusted we should withdraw from them. Feeling sick as always that these complete bastards are mainly getting away with it. So sad for our sisters and their families.
Fuck that. Let's teach our sons not to be violent rapist abusers.

Asking women to forgo all the normal facets of adult life that we've experienced is untenable and insane.

To think Stone has been convicted twice of this. It's a dramatic intervention by the man that I won't name and I suppose there'll be another investigation.

I wish peace of heart to Josie as this comes to public attention again.

I hope it's okay to keep adding to this thread. I don't know what else to do, every day there are more.

I just had a look at our local news site, and the stories on there are:

  • local high school is 'rife' with sexual assaults
  • man took pictures of woman sleeping naked and posted them on a porn site
  • paedophile stabbed
  • calls for Scottish football to review who can play after rapist David Goodwillie loses contract with Raith Rovers

That's literally just the home page. Male violence, and sexual violence, is everywhere.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 07/02/2022 13:32

Male violence, and sexual violence, is everywhere.

Definitely not the issues that need addressing tho', definitely not.

Let's have advice about how women can use Safety Strut while walking home or guidance on flagging down buses. Let's continue to blame women for sharing a home with an abuser when there are no shelters available to receive them if fleeing the home with children. Why not continue to have SS and Police give advice that women must leave an abuser if they're not to have their children taken from them while family court will look unfavourably on a woman for depriving her partner of their children and fleeing a home for relatively poor accommodation etc.

I feel like we should strike. I feel like people need to be talking about this ffs.

A woman's strike. When is IWD? March?

www.millionwomenrise.com

5th of March

purpleboy · 07/02/2022 13:59

Sorry IWD is 8th March.
There is a planned March for VAWAG on 5th March.

DomesticatedZombie · 07/02/2022 14:02

RIP Yasmin, and all other victims of domestic violence who’ve paid the ultimate price. RIP to all the women murdered this year by cowards. So many already, the list is stacking up. How are we supposed to let our daughters out of the house Angry

And let's tell women to call the police on their abusers, when the police force itself is demonstrably institutionally misogynist culturally, and the chance of an offender/abuser being the one to turn up on your doorstep in uniform is disturbingly high.

Unfortunately home is often the most dangerous place for women.

It's so wrong, seeing kind, loving, good, good women losing their lives to men like that. I know it sounds stupidly obvious but it's so fucking unfair.
