Britain's Equalities Watchdog Met Privately With Anti-Trans Groups

Ben Hunte and Steph Place have carried out an investigation into the EHRC. Steph's Place is now demanding:

. The immediate resignation of the Chair of the EHRC, Baroness Kishwar Falkner, and the entire Board of Commissioners

• The immediate resignation of the Ministers for Equality Liz Truss and Kemi Badenoch, who are directly responsible for the political appointment of the EHRC leadership

• The EHRC immediately cease all activities in relation to the Equalities Act 2010 and any associated guidance which may impact the rights of trans people in the UK

• Removal of the EHRC's 'A' status as a National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) as it is clearly unfit for purpose

• A full review of the EHRC's fitness to practice as a human rights organisation as a United Nations accredited National Human Rights Institution.

• All EHRC Board and Chair replacements should be selected based on a proven track record of defending and promoting human rights for all UK citizens and approved by the Women & Equalities Select Committee.

As far as I can tell the main findings of the investigation are that the EHRC had the temerity to meet with FPFW and LGB Alliance

How is it news that EHRC is required to listen to all stakeholders?

Have they forgotten Crispin Blunt and his little secret escapade about an agreement for self id to be brought in by the back door. He had to apologise.

Bet it wasn't a secret meeting, if it was, how come that lot found out

The thread title alone is a piece of propaganda for a start before we even get to the 'investigation'.

What I assume is that she met women's groups concerned about women's rights and safety.

I follow Steph's Place on twitter for the lols. I see that Steph has locked Steph's tweets and says there will be no comment from Steph until Friday.

This tedious editorialisation has to stop. Groups that are pro-women are opposed to a loss of sex-based class and legal protections. This does not position such groups as anti anything rather than in favour of greater understanding of intersectional dissonance and the need for understanding around this.

Steph hates being referred to as ‘male’… mmmm. I remember a poster named Steph getting banned here one night after telling me and other posters off for referring to transitioned males as males. In conjunction with the WiSpa incident.

Maybe all transitioned Stephs have that particular issue.

So Steph's & Ben's position is that groups like the EHRC must only meet with Steph and Ben' s friends? Nobody else, especially women must be allowed access? And this is their understanding of how a democracy works?
