Jennifer Swayne has been arrested on charges of vandalism, ‘hate crimes’ and public order offences. Police searched her house and removed several sheets of stickers.

Is being flippant about the possibility of stickering a hate crime, I wonder?

Sophoclesthefox · 24/01/2022 16:01

I seem to remember we were warned with the possibility of being arrested for terrorism at one point - if we, er, looked at the Kiwi farms website

I’d forgotten that! Man, that was a trip. That poster really was fishing in the same hyperbole pond as barley here.

You’re so worried about authoritarianism, barls, did you never stop to think about how one would categorise the activity “insinuating to groups of anonymous women worried about their rights that they are liable to be tracked down and arrested for talking about maybe committing acts of civil disobedience?”

Sheesh.

It must be a 'very' common tactic.

I mean, we have a poster on the Matt Walsh thread telling us that by clicking on a link to a video posted by Matt Walsh will lead to the fall of established democracy in UK and USA. And that we are responsible for the far right regime atrocities.

It is obviously a very widely spread playbook. Hmm

ArabellaScott · 24/01/2022 16:05

Gosh, do you think the police will be demanding names and addresses of women who say they are thinking of sticking stickers?

My 8 yo has plans to stick stickers, she puts those bloody things everywhere. I'll tell her to read up on her rights.

Logical progression from haberdashery to stationery. Let's hope it's millinery next, I could use a new hat.

🤣🤣🤣

Don't even think about using star charts. Fucking deadly things

EsmaCannonball · 24/01/2022 16:07

I know people who've been burgled recently who didn't even get a visit from the police. They should have told the call-handler that the burglars stickered the downstairs loo or wrote out 'Woman = Adult Human Female' using fridge magnets. They'd probably send out a helicopter and Taggart himself for that one.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 24/01/2022 16:12

This was posted last night on the Matt Walsh thread.

Should such a regime emerge again then all this fretting about who can call themselves a woman, and toilets and what words maternity clinics should use, and people being 'silenced' and even prisons and sports, will fade into insignificance as women are once again turned into unpaid domestic and sexual servants and women who dissent are tortured in prisons.

Today, it appears a woman has been arrested for objecting to men murdering women. Not transwomen. Just men. Barley doesn't seem that bothered about it, to be honest.

But Barley is keen to convince us that clicking on Matt Walsh links will destroy women's rights here. It all seems a little insincere.

IntermittentParps · 24/01/2022 16:13

@PurgatoryOfPotholes

IntermittentParps I haven't seen ones like that before. I think they're custom, but I am certain feminists across the country are sorting out document files of them as we type.
I have already had an only half-casual look at 'design your own stickers' websites... Grin
Helleofabore · 24/01/2022 16:16

I mean, whether it is stickering OR clicking a link to be arrested for terrorism (or contributing to the downfall of democracy in the UK and USA), it does seem to be someone with little experience in being a women to dangle the threat expecting women to actually obey!!!!!

Not sure what else it says about the person making such statements now that I look at it....

ArabellaScott · 24/01/2022 16:18

I, for one, welcome our new Stickering Task Force and trust they will do what is necessary to secure our streets from this terrible threat.

ArabellaScott · 24/01/2022 16:18

And I'm not snitching or anything, but my next door neighbour's got a laminator and I'm not quite sure what she uses it for.

ArabellaScott · 24/01/2022 16:21

Thanks, vivarium, for pointing me to this wonderful woman. 'Uganda’s 'rudest feminist''

'the natural response to this fear and brutality would be to retreat. But I think we must keep resisting along with the fear. The fear should not paralyse us'. - Stella Nyanzi

That's bravery!

Does she also have a printer?

Does that count as being or going potentially equipped for women these days?

@barleybadminton take care hun. That almost sounds like a threat/promise of action!!

BeyondShrinks · 24/01/2022 16:24

I am not now, and never was, a stickerist.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 24/01/2022 16:25

I might have been / may be a stickerist Smile

ArabellaScott · 24/01/2022 16:26

There are no stickers on this premises and I have no intention of ever putting them all over every lamppost, bus stop, and suitable flat surface I pass no matter what anyone tries to say.

SamphiretheStickerist · 24/01/2022 16:26

At risk of repeating myself

I might have been / may be a stickerist Smile

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 24/01/2022 16:27

@BeyondShrinks

I am not now, and never was, a stickerist.
But do you own a bottle of Copydex or that brown gum stuff? Do you have the wherewithal to be a stickerist because it seems as if that's sufficient to create a pall of suspicion about a woman at present. That and being unaccompanied outside the home/gulag.
BeyondShrinks · 24/01/2022 16:28

I'm less concerned about the stickers, and more concerned about anything else that may be found - that totally does not belong to me!

BeyondShrinks · 24/01/2022 16:28

I do have a printer. And glue.

Fuck.

ArabellaScott · 24/01/2022 16:29

Anyway, you'll find most women who buy stickers are probably usually only purchasing them for their own enjoyment in their own often non-UK based domicile: decorating their powder compact, holding up their drawers, taking dog hair off the sofa, checking for blackheads, etc. I expect.
