Jennifer Swayne has been arrested on charges of vandalism, ‘hate crimes’ and public order offences. Police searched her house and removed several sheets of stickers.

If you can't find the extra ground for sowing when helping someone with a gardening fund a good place to check it the Ovarit Activism circle. ovarit.com/o/Activism/hot

You can view to find links even if not a member. If you want to join DM the admins on twitter.

January is turning into a busy month for gardening! Thanks to pp for the hints about where to look.

ItsCoachBombay · 28/01/2022 14:40

@PronounssheRa

Kind? The person who was blasting about doing their own stickering (apparently got the thumbs up from a police officer) is now being shown to be quite a differently person altogether than their cutesy persona they like to project. They have ‘alters’ that do bad things (apparently) - and I mean accused of awful things

The police have been made aware of these allegations

A person died of old age and they paid for the funeral out of guilt....what did they do to this person 😳 how bad did they hurt this person that thousands of pounds were needed to attempt to cover up guilt.

That whole thread is concerning, you can't be excused of crimes like rape because of poor mental health, they can be a mitigating factor in sentencing, but you are still guilty of the offence!

£11,508.00 raised already! WineWine
Glad to be able to contribute in some way.

Rheia1983 · 28/01/2022 18:02

Have donated to the fund raiser. I hope Jennifer's lawyers go all out against the Gwent police.

@yourhairiswinterfire

Jenni tweeted that some of the stickers 'seized' from her home in the search for 'offensive material' say ''Lesbians love ladies, not lads'', with little doodles of female symbols and the labrys.

I'd love to hear them try and explain why that is offensive without sounding homophobic.

They are also investigating criminal damage, if those stickers have been put up somewhere, and she produced them then it is likely they will be added to her charge. The police will be looking to estimate the cost of the damage caused so will want to identify how many stickers and posters they can prove she put up. The council may also be involved with a view to charging her for their removal.

Someone way upthread (is that a real term..?!) said, very presciently, a long time before we even knew if Jenni was going to take the case forward that if she did the crowdfunder would probably be the biggest/fastest so far.. Well spotted, whoever that woman was!

(And I hope it boils Barely's piss, I really do. Women being able to own and spend their own money. How dreadfully unnatural...)

ItsCoachBombay · 28/01/2022 19:47

Not quite. They only need to know of it's above or below £5000.

All the value below or above does is alter the sentencing guidelines.

I mean it's not going to be £5k of damage for a sticker unless she attached a fair few of them to someone's car and it needs to be completely re spray of the vehicle.

Apparantly they have observed her on cctv several times flyposting and stickering and then caught her in the act. Removal costs could well exceed £5000.

What's your estimate of the damage done by the 'shut the fuck up t**f' stickerer? He's been boasting about it on twitter. Why hasn't he been arrested?

Got to hope the police never see this then, all those admissions of stickering

Sorry if this has already been posted, you can nominate Jenni as 'an inspiring woman of Gwent' here:

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 28/01/2022 20:15

£19,967. It went up by £20 while I was watching!

I do hope the police show similar commitment to recording the number of stickers placed by individuals who incline to non-feminist points of view?

I have no idea. But it is not a defence against a crime to say well someone else did it too. That wouldn't even wash in most playgrounds.
ItsCoachBombay · 28/01/2022 20:17

If you say so...

Even so as a stand alone offence of criminal damage it would be a fine if convicted, hardly gonna get the 3month custodial for a index offence of "stickering" 🤣

Artichokeleaves · 28/01/2022 20:18

Then I look forward to seeing the arrests and equal treatment of those happily stickering gun threats towards women who dare to speak up against the destruction of their rights. Because otherwise it will be clear selective application of law, won't it?

And I'll look forward to seeing if a threat to kill is equated as equal in harm to mentioning biological reality and asking males to stay out of female spaces under law. As opposed to in the now utterly bizarre and insane country I appear to be living in.

Freeformation · 28/01/2022 20:20

Which begs the question why did they not arrest her immediately then if it was so hateful and dangerous. Like everyone is saying in the gwentpolice twitter thread the real hate crime is the 500 rapes that they have in effective terms decriminalised. I wander how many of their phones were sent for deep forensic analysis.

DialSquare · 28/01/2022 20:22

Over £20k now.

EdithStourton · 28/01/2022 20:22

Oh, and in case Barley is kindly fretting about what will happen to the results of our gardening if Jenni isn't charged, I don't care what she does with my small contribution - she can use it to pay off her mortgage or go on a deluxe three-week cruise as far as I'm concerned.

OldCrone · 28/01/2022 20:24

I have no idea. But it is not a defence against a crime to say well someone else did it too. That wouldn't even wash in most playgrounds.

So you agree that that person has committed an equivalent (or more accurately, worse) crime. Good that we can agree on something.

Their crime is worse because it threatens violence and is abusive, unlike Jennifer's stickers which were just stating facts.

But the police have failed to act on complaints about those threatening and abusive posters and stickers which have been flyposted by a male, and have chosen instead to persecute a disabled woman posting stickers which state facts. I;m sure you'll also agree that this is quite discriminatory.
