Jennifer Swayne has been arrested on charges of vandalism, ‘hate crimes’ and public order offences. Police searched her house and removed several sheets of stickers.

My young daughter burst into tears with anger when I mentioned the arrest. She is currently reading Malala and is sickened at the treatment of women in Afghanistan and cannot believe a woman in Wales was arrested, detained, and her house searched for stickering. We proudly have a feminist book shelf with lots of stickers and posters which she artistically presented, sorry installed.

Re police and treatment of women, I have been beyond disgusted with the treatment if the academic who handed a teenager a "know your rights" card in 2013, which has only just been settled.

Basically sexually assaulted by police officers who forcibly strip searched her after arresting her.

Goodness, no wonder they would like to silence women, so bloody dangerous with our stickers and haberdashery and extra large pockets full of sedition.

I take exception to the large pockets, in my own experience only the mens clothing I own has large pockets. The womens have no or sewn shut or tiny pockets. As you were.

@Terfydactyl yes you are right!! A slip of the tongue I think, mainly because I buy lots of ‘men’s clothes’ for practical reasons and then think no more about it.

I’d say it was more like sexual assault. She must have been terrified.

Officers should have been fired as a result.

I am surprised that more is not being made of the Fahrenheit 451 removal of a book during the search. There needs to be a massive push back against this policing of thoughts.

When I was a wee 'un I was angry at how women were treated but also optimistic for change. I cannot imagine how girls and young women must feel today :(
