It's well known that Sir George Gardiner, who had held the seat but been deselected by the local party, paraded a donkey through Reigate wearing a banner with the name Crispin on it.

Blunt is yet another example of how male supremacy is embedded (regrettably) in the thinking of so many men. He cannot imagine that Lisa would refuse to obey his instructions and so he seeks for her to be punished.

It is unthinkable that women are refusing to obey the demands of the privileged white males in the Houses of Lords and Commons (like Blunt, Cashman, Paddick etc) They have spoken about what women are and where men are to be allowed and women will comply or be punished.

Lisa was democratically elected, same as him. What arrogance to think he is in a position to 'counsel' her, especially when he's been censured over breach of parliamentary rules.

This is essentially true. The seat has only ever been held by a conservative MP. Can’t see that changing any time soon.

Blunt complained bitterly that his attempts to “counsel” Townsend had been rebuffed and that “she remains absolutely determined to take part in this most contentious of public debates”.

Well how very dare she! A democratically elected Women daring to speak out on women’s rights and safety - an issue that so many of her voters thought was important enough to talk about on the door step…the nerve of the women…especially as she was duly elected as the PCC - who on earth does she think she is.

It makes me curious and suspicious all at once when men are so committed and determined to shut down rational, relevant and appropriate conversations (esp in her position and given recent events).

For those of us who live in Surrey is there anything we can do to support you?

He used to be my MP. Not that I ever saw him as I lived in one of the poorer areas of his constituency. Never voted for him. But yes, most people who live in reigate would vote for a donkey.
