LGBT+ Police Network Wales survey: total gender ideology

112 replies

Pluvia · 14/01/2022 14:46

I've been forwarded this survey intended for LGBT+ people in Wales

www.smartsurvey.co.uk/thankyou

I've filled it in making it perfectly clear that I'm a gender atheist, I don't have a gender, I don't support gender ideology and that I don't regard LGB as having anything to do with TQ+. It seems clear to me that they are taking a highly politicised position.

If anyone else wants to fill it in all you need to give is the first four letters of a Welsh postcode.

I've sent a copy to Fair Cop. Is there any other organisation that might want to take this up?

@Terfydactyl

The daffodils are in a very sheltered south west facing spot close to a brick wall that has been warmed by the lovely bright sunshine we've had here for the past few days.

I was surprised to see them, but it's a very welcome sight as it's been so grey and rainy until now.

The damage inflicted across this country’s institutions is heartbreaking to watch. I am a proud immigrant and a Brit, I feel completely powerless at stopping this madness apart from talking about it with the family and close friends. I can feel the trust in police being seriously undermined. This cannot and must not continue unchallenged.

CompleteGinasaur · 15/01/2022 12:32

I'm Welsh, and a lesbian. And I currently identify as someone who has just married the lot of you. You are now, therefore, all Welsh by marriage and can fill in the survey at your leisure. You're welcome.

CompleteGinasaur · 15/01/2022 12:39

Tee Hee, bad Ginasaur. Still, all those old pit villages need all the immigration they can get..

Artichokeleaves · 15/01/2022 12:40

@HaroldMeeker

Our daffs are mere green stumpy fingers thrusting out of the ground at present. The snowdrops, otoh, are well out and shouting "nah nah, beat ya" at them.
It's all right for you, all mine are underground refusing to come out at all. Clearly my garden is not a safe space.
vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 15/01/2022 12:59

Is there a similar survey where they are looking for information about how they can improve their relationships with people in the community who are female?

Or elderly?

Or of faith?

Or disabled?

Or of colour?

Or pregnant?

Or is it ONLY people who are LGB, but, especially the QT who are of interest Police Force?

I am sure I've read on here that QT aren't protected characteristics. They aren't even defined in law yet, are they?

MrBIobby · 15/01/2022 13:02

Thanks CompleteGinasaur we can all feel special now.

Chersfrozenface · 15/01/2022 13:12

@CompleteGinasaur I'm Welsh and live in Wales and have done the survey. So at the mass marriage identification, could I be an attendant (bridesmaid in old money) ? I've never been one. (sniff)

CompleteGinasaur · 15/01/2022 13:16

You can be Maid of Honour, Best Woman, you name it. God, we're going to nedd a bloody big hall for the reception, aren't we...!

CompleteGinasaur · 15/01/2022 13:17

need, dammit - typing in hurry on my way out1

Pluvia · 15/01/2022 13:24

Your post made me think of what their version of a faith survey would might look like.

Question 1
Which faith do you belong to?
a) Church of England
b) Catholic
c) Methodist
d) Baptist
e) Church of Wales
d) Happy Clappy
e) other Christian denomination

Question 2
Were you a person of faith at birth?
a) Born Christian
b) Born some other false faith and converted to Christianity
c) Born atheist and converted to Christianity

The survey really is that blinkered, isn't it?

Well done, @Pluvia, yes, it's exactly that.

Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
The police are monitoring this thread? On mimmymums say so?

I just posted this on the other thread.

For anyone who missed it at the time, mimmymum is Helen Islan, a former employee of Mermaids, who took Miranda Yardley (a transsexual) to court over alleged transphobic harassment (and lost). Islan is not trans.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3521122-Miranda-in-court
Thank you for that, OldCrone. I did wonder at all the coy references to a mysterious person who took another mysterious person to court. Not sure what was the point.

@EeeICouldRipATissue

Just looked at that tweet. The tweeter has a point though - it is spam and trolling the survey though. What else is stuff along the lines of ' I have a Leek in the fridge, that makes me Welsh!'' Etc Hmm I'm straight and live nowhere near Wales, what gives me the right to fill in and skew the survey? It's ridiculous. Sometimes it's not always about me, or you. It smacks a bit of '' wah, I want to be included too, anything I don't understand is a load of rubbish! "" Hmm

////

You mean like when a biological male who has no idea of the lived experience of a biological woman thinks he has the right to declare himself as one and take our places in employment, shortlists and sports?

Abitofalark · 15/01/2022 15:23

@Artichokeleaves

Well how interesting.

A complaint that their survey may be filled in by those with different political and ideological beliefs to the tweeter's and that this is a cause for police monitoring?

And the police say yes, we're on it. Can't be having tolerance for diversity or plurality or wider representation of LGBT+ women's views!

Which kind of proves the whole point of why we're here, why we're concerned and what the whole problem is! Fgs, police are supposed to have integrity, impartiality and basic common sense. Get a grip for pete's sake.

(Is suggesting that hate speech yet?)

No we can't be having any of that: tolerance is a deeply suspect word; so-called diversity is as weaselly as you can get; plurality is unknown and not officially sanctioned in the parish, representation doesn't cut it against magical Janus-like 'inclusion' and as for L and women, I'm afraid you'll have to catch the High Court on a good day.

It's only fair to add that Plod has never been known for common sense or indeed any of those other admirable qualities you mention, as it continues to confirm to us daily by its actions and statements.

Mind how you go and remember Plod is always available to check your thinking.

My lesbian wife! At blooming last!!! Daffodil

That took substantially longer than I'd been led to believe.

Good. Now - where is my free Tshirt?

BettyFilous · 15/01/2022 16:36

A lesbian wife Arabella, but a timeshare-wife with the 6 other FWR posters and their socks. Always read the small print.

Artichokeleaves · 15/01/2022 17:21

anything I don't understand is a load of rubbish!

A two minute read around this board would demonstrate very clearly that women understand this situation to a way greater depth than TRAs and apparently the Police Network do, and they have a hell of a lot more clearly articulated, evidenced concerns about it than 'this is a load of rubbish'.

Yes, women here are being facetious, especially the L ones, because by this point they are bloody annoyed at this kind of mindless, deaf rejection of them trying to talk about the issues. You'll note however the total lack of threatening to harm or hurt anyone, so very very common to those who do not want women or homosexual people to be allowed to say anything non compliant with this rather controlling, angry and intolerant political position.

You'll also notice that it is a matter of public record that this political lobby has and does brigade surveys on a tediously regular basis to swing things to their own agenda. There's a thread about one being brigaded today. So while I agree with you that brigading and falsifying and generally extracting the michael from this kind of survey is inappropriate - although I'll bet every woman here who has replied has articulated in detail what the issues are, which apparently is badly needed information by this police group in question and not time wasting in the least - but I am not going to sit around in political lockdown being a good girl and keeping the rules while this political lobby Boris everywhere with cheese and wine galore. No more double standards.

MargaritaPie · 15/01/2022 17:28

The police twitter account have posted a new tweet:

"Please be mindful when completing this survey that whilst we welcome your views we absolutely will not tolerate any homophobic or transphobic comments."

MrBIobby · 15/01/2022 17:34

They posted that quite a while ago. And of course people shouldn't post homophobic and transphobic comments. But protecting sex based rights, acknowledging that it's not possible to change sex, and voicing concerns around safeguarding and trans ideology is not transphobic.

Any working definition yet of what either one actually is?

Yeah…. We are lots of socks!!!

Or is that we have lots of socks! I know I have some odd socks. Is this like Dobby though, if we give up our socks to the new timeshare wife, she will be free???
