Well fucksocks! I've pretty much always felt secure in my dislike of Russell Brand and I do hate his narration style but he's talking more sense than most media commentators. So I guess I need to revise my worldview.

I remember very well Jon Stewart on the Daily Show, holding up the Vanity Fair magazine with the picture of a corseted Caitlin Jenner, and declaring repeatedly, "This is a woman." I've always been a fan of his (and the Daily Show when I was able to see it), but it didn't sit well with me, even back then when I identified as a "live and let live" liberal. That said, this clip is comedy gold:

I'm currently rereading the final HP book, in which goblins play a role - one of them helps break into Gringotts. There's nothing that suggests 'Jewish' in their description- unless Jewish people are known for their tapered fingers, excellent metal working skills, philosophy of whoever made an object owns that object, and habit of living underground.
