FWR (as I still think of it) is a very important corner of the Internet.

I read here almost daily, and the amount of information here is incredible - evidence, links to articles, tweets, feminist analysis, philosophical conversations, academic studies, court cases, judicial reviews, updates on previous cases... the list goes on and on. Personally it takes me time to keep up, let alone feel brave enough to comment Smile

At this time of the year, especially, I just thought it would be nice to create a little thread to say thank you to all the regular contributers from the ones like me, who read but rarely post. Thanks for the information, the wisdom, the challenging discussions and all the lovely dinosaur names!

Hopefully some more lurkers will join me so I'm not left languishing on this thread alone!

Thanks All, and lang may yer lum reek! Xmas Smile

Another lurker who has learnt so much, thank you all!! Xmas Smile

Bloodybridget · 23/12/2021 10:03

Adding my thanks and huge appreciation of all the brave, intelligent women here.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 23/12/2021 10:03

How lovely of you to say that, @TofuDelights! All the best.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 23/12/2021 10:04

Oh - and thank you to all the others who said "thank you", too. I wish you all the best for the new year.

greatgatsbygirl · 23/12/2021 10:05

Delurking to add to the numbers. Thank you so much for your knowledge, bravery and patience. Merry Christmas!

TheDivineOddity · 23/12/2021 10:07

Delurking to add my thanks.

HipTightOnions · 23/12/2021 10:32

Isn't this lovely?

Another big thank you. You have given me the information and courage to take action in real life. When it's been awful, it's been a huge relief to come back here and hear you talking utter sense.

Over600Ecalypts · 23/12/2021 10:38

Long-time lurker - I do post but rarely.

A big thank you to those who do post. Based on your wise advice, I've sent letters, dug gardens and been a wee bit braver to speak out loud in real life.

Merry Christmas FWR Xmas SmileGinWineBrewStar

DontAskIDontKnow · 23/12/2021 10:41

Thank you from me too.

I don’t post often, but I have signed up to Sex Matters and sent a few emails to different organisations.

The great thing is that when i manage to drop the subject into conversations, I nearly always get a positive response. People often want to know more and I can share some of what I’ve learnt from this board.

mostlyhalfbaked · 23/12/2021 10:42

Another lurker, delurking to say thanks for all the information and links to help me understand the subject better. I'm getting braver at talking and questioning things in real life. As a teacher in a secondary school I am particularly concerned about safeguarding.

It's really helpful to have links to data and research that has been done, it's helped with a couple of situations when trying to explain the GC point of view. I'm not totally out to everyone I know, partly due to my job and also my interest in hearing what friends who are TRA's have to say. I know several would just block me if they knew what I felt. I've always kept an open mind but have yet to find any evidence or argument to make me return to my "be kind" state of mind.

Sn0tnose · 23/12/2021 10:42

Another thank you from me.

I have learnt so much, and continue to learn every time I come here. And I am incredibly grateful to you very clever women.

Seriouslymole · 23/12/2021 10:42

Yes, another one here. Thank you all so much. I stumbled across this board about 18 months ago after googling Eddie Izzard, having been such a fan and then thinking "WTAF?" more recently. I am forever grateful for the wisdom and camaraderie that I find here, even though I almost never post.

HaplessHetty · 23/12/2021 10:44

Thank you and Merry Christmas from another lurker Xmas Smile

Thelikelylass · 23/12/2021 10:45

We should have another Christmas thread with panto villains and goodies... I have a whole list i could write down!
Keep up the excellent, good humoured, intelligent posts it's so good to be part of this with such wonderful women.

ArabellaScott · 23/12/2021 10:47

How lovely to see so many lurkers! Come out and play, this space is for everyone and the more voices we have the better. Smile

Thanks to everyone who posts on FWR. It's a fabulous resource, and yes, an incredibly valuable space for discussion, debate and analysis.

Thanks to the ploppers, the TRAs, those who disagree and those who challenge. The more views we have the more chance we have of coming to workable solutions that protect the rights of women and girls. This space is where 'no debate' ends.

Thanks too to the mods, and MNHQ, who do a difficult job for very little thanks.

And nods to all those who have been banned, who have flounced, drifted away or left. There will always be more women to take up the torch.

Happy Christmas, all.

Waitwhat23 · 23/12/2021 10:53

It's truly lovely to see all the lurkers! I lurked for such a long time and was taken with the clear headed intelligence of the posters - the evidence, links and knowledge.

This is such an important space. Merry Christmas to all

Loveacuppa · 23/12/2021 10:58

Me as well - saying thank-you to all for the light shining, informed articulation, and the lovely sense of shared-team-got-your-back-ness.

reallyisthisallthereis · 23/12/2021 10:58

And from me too. Spend far too much time lurking on this site and occasionally posting. I've learnt so much.

catscatscurrantscurrants · 23/12/2021 11:11

Another thank you from me. Most of my old friends embrace the wokery without question, and I am so glad I found this corner of MN to reassure me that I'm not losing my sanity! Merry Christmas to you all x

ElBandito · 23/12/2021 11:19

Thank you!
From yet another lurker!

MrFlippersPancake · 23/12/2021 11:21

Another lurker saying a heartfelt thanks on behalf of me and my three daughters.

Motnight · 23/12/2021 11:25

Thank you from me too. This space has given me the confidence to start to publicly question my workplace's attitudes towards sex and gender.

DaftVader42 · 23/12/2021 11:29

Me too - heartfelt thanks to those who post here. It has educated me, and encouraged me.

MissSueFlay · 23/12/2021 11:35

Thank you, from someone who is getting braver about joining/starting conversations on this topic, both personal and at work. As a mother of a young daughter, so glad for the heads up for when all this inevitably comes onto her radar.I hope this thread shows how much quiet support there is - many of us will be signing the petitions and contributing to consultations etc. Keep on keeping on, amazing women for women!
