Just a heads up if anyone is interested. Includes Profs. Jo Phoenix and Rosa Freedman.

OP posts:

@JoodyBlue

Still appears to be unavailable to view on All4 :(
Yes... Stuff usually becomes available quite quickly on all 4. Hopefully not cancelled!
Rightsraptor · 03/12/2021 08:48

I do hope it pops up later on All4, I missed the first 10 mins. On the whole I thought it very good and we were allowed to see some woke idiocy in its full glory, as pp have said the juxtaposition of Jo Phoenix's speech about child exploitation with screaming banshee outside spoke volumes.

I loved the trade fair with the DIE organisation. One toilet for each sexual orientation? How did those 2 actors keep straight faces?

Cailin66 · 03/12/2021 08:50

@MynameisWa

Please don’t slate the medium that is giving you the freedom to express your opinions. Gb news from what I see is willing to accommodate a broad range of viewpoints that otherwise wouldn't get aired. But everyone who goes on it does a little speech to justify themselves first. I think they deserve more than that.
I'd imagine Jo was taken in by the Spin on GB News initially. Certainly I was. I think a lot of the media were very hostile to them and it put a lot of people off. That's because the other channels don't want competition. Anything that is getting across our views has to be a good thing. Plus as you've said accommodating a range of viewpoints is very important. Up to now all the rest of the media have been full on trans rights and painted us women in a negative way.
Palmfrond · 03/12/2021 09:30

I was struck by the reactions of the punters at the trade fair, which seemed solidly “is this marketable/on brand” rather than “wtf is this nonsense” or even a more circumspect “what are the ethical/logistical ramifications of running a company where grammar needs to be tailored to individuals feelings”.

Palmfrond · 03/12/2021 09:32

Beefcurtains79 · 03/12/2021 09:33

It is not on channel 4 catch up still? Am gutted, programmes on later are available.

Zeugma · 03/12/2021 09:43

I usually download things I've missed to my Sky box - it's not showing up there at all, just no returns in search results. If you search for it on All4 it's saying 'unavailable'.

Oh, the irony. Really annoyed I missed it.

BitMuch · 03/12/2021 10:41

It was a really good programme. Air time for both sides seemed equal. Professor Jo Phoenix and Professor Rosa Freedman spoke about their experiences so eloquently. I'm sure it was shocking for people who aren't already aware just how normal it is for female academics to be threatened in their place of work by students without the university protecting their workers. Rosa Freedman calmly stating that the worst thing that had been shouted at her at work was someone telling her she is a Nazi and that she should 'get raped'. Thank you both for speaking up about your awful experiences without knowing how Channel 4 will edit your words. The time will come when mainstream documentaries will say the way you have been treated is abusive and wrong and the violent threats only come from one side.

The TRAs managed to prove the violent woman-hatred is a real widespread problem using their air time. The TRA who walked up to a security woman and shouted through a megaphone into her face "Shut. the. fuck. up. you. cunt."! The man shouting "Shame on you! Die! Die! Die!". All while Jo talks about her work about protecting girls and women. TRA Ashley responded to a question about a woman being threatened and scared at work by talking about 'comments' being what trans people are scared of everyday. What, comments like "this is the women's toilet"? No examples given. Ashley even tried to explain the threats and abuse of women by saying trans people are bullies because they are marginalised.

Hopefully the public are getting a mental picture of what 'transwoman' actually means, for too long it has been biologically female actresses. The message that their 'rights' are actually the right for men to invade women's spaces including changing rooms and prisons was put across which was key. Ashley said there is no debate allowed about these 'rights'. Some images of the "transwomen" like Stephen Wood who committed assaults in women's prisons would have been good but that's just nitpicking. I guess I'm spoiled by GB News, who show photos of Mouncey, Hubbard, McKinnon etc when they talk about 'transwomen' being allowed to compete in women's sports etc.

Absolutely great to see more debate and exploration of these issues on TV. I think regular people will be thinking this is scary and mad but hopefully will start talking about what is happening.

CreepingDeath · 03/12/2021 10:48

Thanks for letting me know about this, I missed it on tv and looking up Channel 4 OnDemand it's still not available to view. Grrr.

Maybe a few of us can email them and ask that it be put up? There is a 'contact us' bit at the bottom of the webpage.

SpindlesWinterWhorl · 03/12/2021 11:47

I've asked C4 where it is, as I want to see it.

aliasundercover · 03/12/2021 11:57

Me too.

purpleme12 · 03/12/2021 11:58

@FindTheTruth

Ashleigh was asked about an academic being really frightened and didn't acknowledge it. just went straight to 'that's what trans people face everyday'
Didn't she just justify what the person was going through by saying that's what we trans people go through every day?

I'm not regular on this board like you guys but I've read these threads before and agree with a lot of it.

HandsOffMyRights · 03/12/2021 18:42

The irony that 'Cancelled' has been cancelled on All4. It's 'unavailable' to stream still.

I was too tired to watch last night, and silly me, assumed I could simply catch up today.

Awkwardy · 03/12/2021 19:02

Ditto. Conspiracy, cock-up or just inefficiency?

MurielSpriggs · 03/12/2021 19:09

I noticed complaints about transphobia popping up Hmm

StillWeRise · 03/12/2021 19:12

bugger was going to watch this tonight

exwhyzed · 03/12/2021 19:16

Keep checking for it All4 has been really buggy recently. Something I usually watch on catch up later on the same night it airs took 3-4 days to arrive on All4 last week.

Rhannion · 03/12/2021 19:23

Does anyone know when this repeated somewhere or on the channel 4 catchup. Thanks

Just saw this! thank you I’ll look out for it.
Schoolchoicesucks · 03/12/2021 21:27

Has anyone found this on replay? The 9pm and 11pm programmes are showing but not this. Keen to watch as missed it yesterday.

NarcissistsEyebrows · 03/12/2021 23:17

Another one keen to watch. Placemarking for updated

Ditto
GAHgamel · 04/12/2021 06:19

According to my telly guide it's being repeated in the early hours of the 15th of December.

VexedofVirginiaWater · 04/12/2021 11:51

@daringdoris

How absolutely humourless was that first young woman he interviewed!?

I thought it was pretty well done.

I thought she came over as smug and patronising while she trawled through RB's tweets from quite a few years ago and instructed him on where he went wrong. And uncharitably found myself hoping that someone does the same to her in 20 years time.
Rhannion · 04/12/2021 14:06

Could it be on youtube ?
