I think it is excellent they have reported it in this way and mentioned the penis in the headlines. It highlights the absurdity of the whole thing and will be eye-catching to those who are still ignorant of the pitfalls of insisting TWAW or that this is even a thing.

At least this week we have had much less ‘look at who you are aligned with’ sneering and jeering.

Although, there has been a couple who have still tried to go there.

The legal name change came after the prison sentences. In my view name changes should be made far more difficult and convicted offenders should have to apply to the court for permission to do so.

I don't think that's necessary. Is the victim of a woman who exposes her penis to them any more or less startled or upset than if a man exposed his penis to them? Is a woman who is raped by a woman with a penis less of a victim - or a different kind of victim - than a woman raped by a man?

I think the #notourcrimes hashtag is utter nonsense. What does it actually mean? Women trying to distance themselves from other women who happen to use their penises to commit crimes, because they themselves don't commit them? Well a high proportion of men have never raped anyone either so #notourcrimes applies to most men too.

Ok, I am confused, genuinely. So a woman cannot menstruate (apparently) but she can expose her penis (the sex toy / exposure is just an additional add on to my confusion/despair).

Women are still fighting mansplaining, sexism, misogyny, lack of equal pay and career opportunities, health care and not to mention the tedious passive aggressive comments from random little men, I could go on, and now women don't even menstruate but we do have a penis.

I am all for everyone being treated with respect and dignity no matter how they identify but this is not feeling fair and a bit one way tbh.

No that’s been our point all along.

People with penises (let’s call them men for shorthand) commit the vast majority of sexual crimes.
Yes there are some people with vaginas (let’s call them women for ease) who do too but it’s a tiny minority.

In order for the women folk to be able to say ‘hey some of these men folk are can be dangerous to us can we be separated from them in vulnerable situations please?’ we need to be able to show statistics that prove that.

If some crimes committed by men are shown to be committed by women, what grounds do women have to say they need support, funding and sex segregated spaces for their safety?

People with penises are all of the male sex. The majority are men. Some prefer to identify as transwomen or NB. Which is fine.

All crimes should be reported by sex. That may mean referring to TW or NB in addition to be clear if the individual prefers. Anywhere that sex is recorded at all it should be recorded accurately. Frankly this individual would be much better protected from focus and annoyance and response if they were honestly presented in this article as a TW in court for exposing themselves.

Females don’t have penises. Crimes are registered by sex. Female perpetrators and male perpetrators. A bump in females being convicted for rape has already been shown in statistics.

Is there a reason females are now committing sex crimes at higher rates? Is it porn? Is it a change in the law that is capturing them? Is something fundamental causing females to change behaviour that was reliable statistically for decades, centuries and millennia?

Please tell us Harriet whether research funds should be directed into discovering why this change is occurring so that safeguarding can be changed to cover it.

If you were serious, you clearly haven’t actually understood why it is important. You have swallowed the activist line of ‘anyone who disagrees is doing so from hate’. Or maybe Harriet, you have the studies we have been waiting for- that prove transitioned males commit sex crime at a different rate to other males? Do you have those, we have been waiting for proof. It will be great to see those new studies. No?

Safeguarding relies on knowing who are the groups that are committing the crimes. To obscure the groups leaves loopholes.
