The police are involved and all three have locked their accounts.

I hope their agents will take note.

I am also very confused about the “don’t be a cissy “ statement which these three activists made so publicly.

It does sound like CIS which we have been assured not is an insult.

The porn aspect, are we not allowed to talk about that? I thought sissy porn was the kind of pornographic photos transwomen posted of themselves on JK Rowlings ickablog feed which was aimed at children ? Pictures of transwomen showing their penises?

RepentMotherfucker · 22/11/2021 16:48

And if I owned the website on which someone had just done that I'd be deleting and perma-banning and saying sorry and issuing a warning to others not to be so bloody stupid.

Journeyofthedragons · 22/11/2021 16:49

@Beckert

She makes public the phone number of the person she was responding to at the end of her tweet.

Whose phone number does she make public? The police officer? From their public police page?

She made public the mobile phone number of the person she was having the twitter exchange with, as far as I know this person didn't work for the police force.

It doesn’t matter if other outlets have revealed her address. It’s still wrong and PP shouldn’t be publicising it either. JKR has been subject to death threats and her privacy should be protected..

nauticant · 22/11/2021 16:50

I took it to be a pun that "Cis" is somehow bad with a implied by "Sissy" is good. Par for the course. Also par for the course is "Richard Energy".

inigomontoyahwillcox · 22/11/2021 16:53

You do realise that the Morningside Road address is a PO Box and not her home ... right?

RedDogsBeg · 22/11/2021 16:53

and the second shot you so belatedly supplied shows that Marion realised the mistake she had made, apologised for it and deleted it.

nauticant · 22/11/2021 16:54

It's this mad idea that if you haven't maintained 100% privacy then you are not entitled to privacy. Mad enough but when this is about a woman who's been the subject of death threats it's off the scale bonkers.

It's analogous to the frequently used trans activist argument that if a safeguarding measure doesn't provide 100% safety then it might as well be discarded as useless.

mistake Hmm
RedDogsBeg · 22/11/2021 16:57

Yes it clearly was, or are your reading comprehension skills not up to par?

OK, she really meant to publish her own private mobile number on twitter.

👍

JK is the queen of the quill. We love her in our house. I feel so bad she had to put up with this rubbish but admire her so much for standing up for women.

Yes, but someone had just posted (now deleted) a screenshot from Google of the actual address that those 3 'activists' were at. The one JKR referred to as her family address.
InspiralCoalescenceRingdown · 22/11/2021 17:01

It's interesting that TRAs will argue back and forth about doxxing, but having nothing to say about doxxing attempts on this very thread. Says everything, really.

girafferafferaffe · 22/11/2021 17:01

She is a wonderful woman.

Beckert · 22/11/2021 17:02

Looks like it was a mistake which she deleted. Not a patch on what happened to her, jkr or numerous other women is it.

RedDogsBeg · 22/11/2021 17:03

@girafferafferaffe

She is a wonderful woman.
Absolutely.
Doubletoilandtrouble · 22/11/2021 17:03

So, women on this board gets bad rep all over Twitter for discussing safeguarding? And if we say something that TRAs could find remotely offensive, we get a strike?

And someone defending TRAs comes onto this board and post the address of JKR, a woman who have received heaps of rape and death threats?

Can someone explain why we are the bad guys again?

SpindlesWhorl · 22/11/2021 17:06

I've had a (email) reply from JKR's office already saying thanks for the good wishes, and that they do pass all this on (in bulk I imagine!) to her. Might send a card to the P.O. Box as well, including one to the staff.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 22/11/2021 17:06

The answer is here:

women on this board

We're refusing:
–to be quiet about safeguarding
–to self harm in the name of #Kindness
–to be emotional support humans that indulge the immersive fiction of others.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/11/2021 17:07

Immersive fiction - perfect

I'm certainly not a TRA, I'm of the opinion that all doxxing is bad.

Big fan of JKR, but she's Streisanded herself here.

AssassinatedBeauty · 22/11/2021 17:11

What @UndertonesOfCake posted was a screenshot of content that Google had scraped from the internet, incorrectly attributing her home address to her publishing company. Goodness knows where they had scraped it from to associate it in this way. It was incredibly stupid and irresponsible to screenshot it and post it on here, and even dimmer to suggest that somehow JKR or her company had made it public themselves.

Doubletoilandtrouble · 22/11/2021 17:12

I think maybe JKR knew that if she replied it would get more attention. She is a very clever woman.

But I think she also knew that every time TRAs pull a stunt like this doxxing they get bolder. If she didn’t put a stop to it, it would escalate.

Maybe she also wanted to make an example of these TRA doxxers. She has the legal resources to drag them through the courts and sue them to hell and back.

She mentioned other less fortunate women in her post. They don’t have those resources but would benefit from a court case showing how unacceptable this is.

beastlyslumber · 22/11/2021 17:13

What the hell has Marion Millar's twitter got to do with TRAs stalking JK? I don't get it. So because MM did something she shouldn't, that means JKR deserves to have crimes committed against her?
