I've been watching TT Exulansic's videos on YouTube having seen a link to them on here. I have learnt so much - what she is sharing is so necessary in terms of this debate. I'm also finding them really upsetting. I'm so shocked by what I've seen and just wanted to talk about them here. If you haven't watched any yet, please do.

I have a condition which has meant having plastic surgery to make my body look more 'normal'. I've had multiple, very painful surgeries which have left me in a degree of chronic pain but ultimately, I have achieved my goal in that I now have a much more normal looking body which it is easier to go through life with. These surgeries have had a clear medical benefit beyond my appearance being changed, just to be clear. I have a medical condition which has objective markers. There is evidence having gone through these surgeries, I will now have better physical health in my old age and will be less likely to experience certain complications which the condition can end up causing so the benefits definitely aren't just cosmetic - it's just the cosmetic benefits meant a lot to me as a patient. My body was 'wrong' and that was badly affecting my mental health and so I've put myself through a lot to make it look 'right.'

So there I am with having gone through this journey and so I think watching these videos on YT feels that little bit more personal in some ways, even though I don't have gender dysphoria and my surgeries were completely different. I knew already that things like constructing a 'penis' out of someone's arm was utterly barbaric and had a high failure rate and I knew there could be complications with attempting to construct a vagina. I just had no idea how frequently there were complications and how dangerous this journey is. I suddenly have the view that it must be almost impossible to go through them safely - at the very least you are risking fissures and strictures and those can lead to serious complications. Just taking testosterone is likely to lead to heart damage, too. There are going to be so many people who go through these operations and who die prematurely because they end up with sepsis or other infections.

I just watched the latest video on Jazz. I felt sick to my stomach at that one in particular. How has this poor kid got any kind of future? Jazz is severely depressed, 150 pounds overweight, has no sexual functioning at all, has already experienced multiple surgeries and complications and is likely to experience more. It's a crime to be doing this to vulnerable young people. If Jazz hadn't had these surgeries, we'd be looking at a young man embarking on a degree at Harvard, perhaps at the beginning of a journey where he felt comfortable with his sex and his sexuality. He'd be out having fun. My surgeries were so incredibly tough but on balance, they were worth it and while I'm in pain here and there, I don't have any additional complications which will actually threaten my life. That isn't the case with trans surgeries. Surgeons are literally butchering healthy bodies. They must know they are. How have things been allowed to go in this direction? (I know the answer to that really)

The non binary student who has had her nipples removed is a memorable low point, how have we got here?

I have seen clips of this on Twitter and I don't get it? Why did they have their nipples removed as well? I saw a Dr talking to them about doing a biopsy on them and then throwing them away, but why would this happen if the breasts were being removed as part of 'gender' surgery?

BraveBananaBadge · 20/11/2021 08:59

Of course @oldwomanwhoruns, yikes that's a grim mistake to make, apologies to Karen Davis and thanks for pointing that out.

BraveBananaBadge · 25/11/2021 10:19

She was the guest on yesterday's The Mess We're In if you haven't already seen/ heard it.

potniatheron · 25/11/2021 11:43

I think she's great. Firstly because she reveals the true physical cost and shoddy 'outcomes' of genital surgery. i.e. open wounds, infections, disabling scarring, fistula, incontinence, nerve damage, inability to experience sexual pleasure and all the rest. This is something that the trans movement and, irresponsibly, the mainstream media refuses to touch on. But the fact is that anytime you see a trans person who has had genital surgery, the likelihood is that they have been permanently disabled in some way by that surgery. That is something that absolutely should be brought into public view. it should not be covered up. Otherwise society is dishonestly luring vulnerable people into these surgeries.

Secondly, she exposes the cognitive dissonance of those vulnerable young people who are groomed down the trans path. I.e. young men and women who are clearly unhappy and distressed by the horrible ways in which they have been mutlilated (without being told by the doctors that mutiliation would be the outcome!) but feel the need to pretend they are happy with the surgery and everything's fine, for fear of being ostracised and cancelled by the online trans 'community' at large. I find these videos quite distressing, where you see these vulnerably, mentally ill young people trying to keep the happy pretence up even whilst the horrible truth dawns in their eyes.

It really is a 'community' of grooming, abuse and mutilation and there are a number of responsible parties. TT is especially good at calling out the most responsible parties, the surgeons who do these horrible surgeries, and the regulatory bodies who should be overseeing them. It is a terrible conspiracy of mutilation and silence and I can't wait until it all comes crashing down. Although I feel for those whose lives have been ruined.

@Sparkyduchess

What’s her background? I saw a reference to her being a detransitioner, I didn’t know that?
Yes she talks in a recent video about having had gender dysphoria from childhood (so not rapid onset)

She also has a degree in gender studies and linguistics and then did clinical training in speech pathology, so has medical expertise.

Yes Fleek, on The Mess We're In she spoke about the impact studying gender at Berkeley had on her too - including being around Judith Butler. She identified as trans for four years I think it was.

This is what shocks me too.

There is also one video where a young woman is talking about her mastectomy and how the end result was not what she really wanted (as in not flat enough) and also not totally symmetrical and how she now "has dysphoria from her right side (?), but she has learned to live with it ", making blatanly obvious that there are other ways to cope with dysphoria...

QUOTE "Why did they have their nipples removed as well? I saw a Dr talking to them about doing a biopsy on them and then throwing them away, but why would this happen if the breasts were being removed as part of 'gender' surgery?" UNQUOTE

In the US (and Australia) where the different surgeries are not paid for by the state, the blood suckers surgeons charge per nipple to have them re-attached as if your boobs are bigger they tend to have to move them to be centred were they ought to be. Many times the nipples fail to re-attach anyway and they die off if there isn't a good blood supply when they get re-attached.

I really like her analysis of this one.

And it's not quite as painful to watch as the medical ones.

Has anybody else found that the Glinner/Exulansic video on You Tube has been made private? I have never had that happen before with the "Mess We're In" videos.

It’s still working for me:

My message here was deleted by MNHQ. I really didn't expect this from Mumsnet. It wasn't offensive and merely echoed the veiws of Exulansic. Can anyone tell me who deleted it and why please?

Nipple reattachment requires a very good blood supply. If the surgeon is not skilled enough or the blood supply not sufficient they will be too difficult to re-attach.

TurquoiseBaubles · 23/01/2022 23:59

annatwink, some posters on here don't like honesty or truth, so will report. You probably said something that was upsetting to one of the monitors.

Treestandsafety · 02/02/2022 21:22

Just found her videos on y.t...There should be trials and prison for what is happening..

dianawoods · 02/02/2022 21:58

Exulansic is doing great work for us all.

FOJN · 02/02/2022 22:22

Why did they have their nipples removed as well?

I have seen some videos where transitioners report an additional cost for having their nipples reattached. A study I was reading this week reported a 41% failure rate of reattached nipples.

BraveBananaBadge · 02/02/2022 22:52

She's had India Willoughby in her sights this week and I've been utterly shocked - perhaps as the focus has shifted from 'crazy American stuff' to what is filtering down here.

Her link from fluffy This Morning 'be kind'ness to the end result for women's spaces was just chilling. Her videos have appalled me before, made me rage. But this one was frightening.

SantaClawsServiette · 03/02/2022 13:01

I find her quite interesting, and her stuff can be chilling. I think though she is a lot less likely to resonate with people who are not already really concerned about what's going on. It's easy to get the impression at times that she's being mocking - I don't think she is at all really but it is easy to get that impression at times, and I can see some people I know being shocked at her being so mean.

I also thought with the Jazz ones that sometimes she might have been too inclined to believe that what was being shown was real. The one where Jazz is binge eating in the car struck me that way - it seemed likely to have been totally fake to me.

endofthelinefinally · 03/02/2022 13:17

As a parent who has lost an adult child, one of the most distressing things that I have realised is the fact that it is extremely likely that these children will die before their parents. It is horrific.

Lordamighty · 03/02/2022 14:21

The harm being caused to young people’s bodies is beyond horrific. If someone had told me a few year’s* ago that this is where we would be with medical transitions, I wouldn’t have believed it.

*should there be an apostrophe in year’s ago? My phone thinks there should but I’m not sure 🤔

DontLikeCrumpets · 04/02/2022 05:43

@Toseland "tm where the surgery costs were currently running at $650,000!
'I had no idea surgeries were so expansive. That is jaw-dropping.I wonder if any countries that have socialized healthcare are paying for such surgeries.

nolongersurprised · 04/02/2022 06:39

should there be an apostrophe in year’s ago? My phone thinks there should but I’m not sure 🤔

No, but you would say “in a few years’ time” or ‘two weeks’ notice’ or “last year’s shoes” so I figure it’s because “ago” isn’t a noun. I’m sure someone more knowledgable will be able to explain better than I have.
