From the programme notes:

"Nancy Kelley is CEO of Stonewall, the largest LGBT rights charity in Europe. She speaks to Emma about her organisation’s work and gives her reaction to recent high-profile withdrawals from Stonewall’s Diversity Champions workplace inclusion scheme, including the BBC."

Hmmm...yes, we've heard - and dissected - the previous pronouncement from that quarter about the BBC pulling out of the Stonewall scheme. Let's see what waffle and spin come out in this interview.

Writing to BBC after this to thank Emma for this forensic articulation of the issues - bravo.

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/11/2021 10:29

NK getting angry now.

PrinzessinCressida · 18/11/2021 10:31

So if you've lived it it's NOT a stereotype, but if you haven't you can't open your mouth? Is that actually what she's saying??!!!

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/11/2021 10:31

Tinkly laugh is toe curling.

WinterTrees · 18/11/2021 10:31

'We haven't been able to distill in this interview what is transphobic?'

Emma, we've never been able to distill that. We've been trying for YEARS

disconnected101 · 18/11/2021 10:31

Let's hear her squirm over Kathleen Stock

StrawberrySquirrelThief · 18/11/2021 10:31

Gosh - not listening but sounds like EB has really been reading up on this. Gave up on Woman’s Hour but may have to revisit.

endofagain · 18/11/2021 10:32

Can I send a card or letter directly to EB? She deserves an award IMO.

disconnected101 · 18/11/2021 10:32

The CEO of Stonewall doesn't know any of the details of the Kathleen Stock case Hmm

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/11/2021 10:32

Stonewall Universities. Urgghh.

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/11/2021 10:33

@disconnected101

The CEO of Stonewall doesn't know any of the details of the Kathleen Stock case Hmm
AMAZING
JustSpeculation · 18/11/2021 10:33

Yes! EB showing what the BBC should be!

ginslinger · 18/11/2021 10:33

She really doesn't know much about Kathleen Stock case - aye right

socialworker222 · 18/11/2021 10:33

It just gets better and better

BettyFilous · 18/11/2021 10:33

As someone else said upthread, this is a masterclass by Emma.

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/11/2021 10:34

Wriggling on the hook.

LangificusClegasaurous · 18/11/2021 10:35

Pleading ignorance is a bit of a theme recently, isn't it?

WinterTrees · 18/11/2021 10:35

Oh gosh, she is brilliant. Bringing it round to the starting point again with the Stonewall policy in universities, making NK echo her earlier confident jokey assertion that 'Doh - no one takes any notice of little old us! We have no influence at all!' It sounds a whole lot more hollow now.

beigebrownblue · 18/11/2021 10:35

Surely the point about the woman's refuge is follows

There aren't enough places for women.
If transwomen are offered places in these refuges that ulitmately means there will be fewer places for women.

Mollymalone123 · 18/11/2021 10:36

This is like a car crash interview.Emma B is doing a fantastic job!

GCITC · 18/11/2021 10:36

Nancy saying that you can only know if someone is a transphobe if you've met and know them.

The TRAs won't be happy.

LizzieSiddal · 18/11/2021 10:36

She’s as slippery as a slippery fish.

CriticalCondition · 18/11/2021 10:36

The high pitched hm-mms are very telling.

Helleofabore · 18/11/2021 10:36

Go Emma!

WinterTrees · 18/11/2021 10:37

@CriticalCondition

The high pitched hm-mms are very telling.
And the squeaky parroting of Elgeebeeteequeueplus at regular intervals
