So, the Hogwarts turncoats are getting back together, sans Rowling.

They have a brass neck, that's for sure.

Happy to ring every last penny they can out of the franchise whilst continuing to sell Rowling down the river.

Zero moral compass between them. Either they back Rowling, and thank her for the fact anyone other than their mum knows they exist, or they renounce and walk away. You dont get to have it both ways.

Yes, free speech is great, isn't it?

ArabellaScott · 17/11/2021 17:45

Just checking nobody has got those quotes for me, yet?

Only, it's getting late and I'm starving.

Ratherly · 17/11/2021 17:48

I'd love it if JKR wrote a thinly veiled EW type character into her new strike book - all faux feminism and self aggrandisement yet wonderfully hypocritical Grin

Wonderful woman. Christmas Pig & strike box set on Christmas lists.. FU TRAs

Igneococcus · 17/11/2021 17:48

You better get yourself a snack Arabella it's going to be a long wait.

girafferafferaffe · 17/11/2021 17:49

Bastards!

JellySaurus · 17/11/2021 17:54

I found seeing Hermione played by a white child in the first film really jarring. Until I saw the film, it had never occurred to me that Hermione was white. From the first description of her in the first book, I had always visualised Hermione as mixed-race.

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 17/11/2021 17:56

Maggie's tied the noose for their own neck with the changing race analogy, acknowledging it is ridiculous, then drawing the parallel to sex.

Sophoclesthefox · 17/11/2021 17:57

Sometimes, like the Roadrunner, all you really need to do is wait for Wile E Coyote to drop a rock on his own head. He doesn’t need any help 🤣

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/11/2021 18:16

Thought I was on the Harrop thread there for a minute, Soph Grin

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 17/11/2021 18:16

Whatever she calls herself. Apparently she's also "Robert" for some reason

Is that honestly the best youve got? 😳

NovemberWitch · 17/11/2021 18:19
@NovemberWitch And I was involved with AAM. With all due respect to JK Rowling, this situation is not the equivalent of aparthied era SA.
I think you’ve misunderstood my analogy.
I wasn’t presenting Apartheid and JKR as equivalents. I was attempting to say that if you take an unequivocal stance on trans rights, and denounce someone as a transphobe, and are ok with the shunning/exclusion, you shouldn’t then accept money, acclaim etc from something created by that person.
They are having their cake and eating it. Or trying to.

ArabellaScott · 17/11/2021 18:26

Cake?

FindTheTruth · 17/11/2021 18:40

The polar opposite of the characters they played, written by Jo.

I often draw parallels between what happened in the books/prophesy and what's happened in real life.

RepentMotherfucker · 17/11/2021 18:49

This.

Especially the acting. But also some really odd editing in the earlier films which seems to have been carried out by a film and media student.

Tunics teacakes are quite tasty.
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/11/2021 19:17

@MargaritaPie

When you refer to “Ms K”, do you actually mean Ms R, eg JK Rowling?

Whatever she calls herself. Apparently she's also "Robert" for some reason.

btw, just thinking out loud here, how come she doesn't believe a man can turn into a woman but she's perfectly happy for a white person to turn black? (ie Hermione)

A race change is ok for JK Robert, but not sex.

Dunning Kruger.
ArabellaScott · 17/11/2021 19:18

I sit on a throne of Tunnocks teacakes as we speak.

You’re not making the slightest bit of sense, but you know that don’t you?
OverByYer · 17/11/2021 19:33

I heard this being discussed on Times radio this morning, Stig Abel was very scathing about the 3 of them, quite rightly so. They would be nothing without JKR. They are a disgrace. Everyone involved this in this project should be ashamed of themselves

PenguindreamsofDraco · 17/11/2021 19:34

Tunnocks not tunics Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/11/2021 20:01

Ocado still not stocking Tunnock's products. Bastards. Angry Sad Need another trip to Sainsbury's to get my new favourite, Tunnock's Dark Caramel Wafers. I may toss one in Arabella's direction as I exit, if she's lucky. I expect her still to be sitting waiting ...

rabbitwoman · 17/11/2021 20:07

I am surprised margaritapie has not bought up that ridiculous story about jk Rowling naming her Robert Galbraith alter ego after a gay conversion therapy doctor....

When a child, Jo used Ella Galbraith as a pen name. She stuck with galbraith but wanted to move away from a name that sounded like two letters (such as J K), also she wanted to be as different from j k Rowling as possible so wanted a male pen name.

She chose Robert after her hero, Robert Kennedy!!! Now, I may have a bit of an issue with jk Rowling admiring a Kennedy.... But that's a different story....

eightlivesdown · 17/11/2021 20:30

Without JKR, where would any of them be? There shouldn't be a 20-year anniversary event without JKR's inclusion. Absolute ingrates.

Even if they disagree with her opinions - and they might be in the minority there - so what? Can't people disagree on some issues, yet remain friends, work colleagues, and so on?

Is that a conscious decision by ocado?
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/11/2021 20:45

I doubt it. Do they operate in Scotland? I'm in London. I've put in a product request more than once.
