Please, if you live in Scotland, get the message to your MSPs.

forwomenscotland.eaction.org.uk/MSP

Follow the link and it is all very easy. If you can share far and wide, that would be great.

To be fair it actually said:

'My office receives a large volume of correspondence and may not be able to respond to you immediately, however I or a member of my staff will get back to you as soon as is practicable.

Parliamentary rules only allow me to assist individuals who reside in the constituency I represent of XXXX. To ensure there is no delay in responding to your email please provide your full postal address. Alternatively please re-send your email with your address if this was omitted.

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 10/11/2021 12:37

Scottish Labour said:
'Thank you for your email. Please accept this automated response as confirmation that your email has been received.'

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 10/11/2021 12:46

I have added a post on Scotsnet.

weebarra · 10/11/2021 13:15

Same response here from Jeremy Balfour (Con). I can't believe I'm agreeing with the response of a Tory, while living in Scotland. Oh well.

ArabellaScott · 10/11/2021 13:22

Came as a shock to me, too, barra!

itsanotherfineday · 10/11/2021 15:10

I got the same reply from Lorna Slater, within five minutes of sending my reply. She has pronouns in her signature and the email was sent by her assistant who also has pronouns.
I guess I reply to say she won't get my vote

doorornottodoor · 10/11/2021 17:12

I got that reply from Lorna Skater too. Awful! So patronising. So much for listening to your constituents. Shut down. I am angry Angry

terryleather · 10/11/2021 18:02

I will do this but want to do a bit of tweeking to the text.

I don't see the point of sending it to the fudmeister Patrick Harvie as I will combust if I get that patronising arsewash back in reply that LS has farted out - they don't give a fuck about women, that much is plain.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/11/2021 18:12

Which human rights? The rights of rapists to be housed in women's prisons? The right of children to access off-label medication and surgery to treat 'dysphoria'? The right of male doctors to treat female patients who've specifically asked for a female HCP, even in cases like care for rape victims?

You can't just invent rights as if any stated desire magically becomes a 'right'.

It's just vapid, thought-terminating cliches.

Mantlemoose · 10/11/2021 18:27

Done

To be frank, she doesn't need it. They weren't elected on the basis of lots of votes.

Under 35,000 votes. Not sure what %age of the electorate that is, a bit under 1%?

ArabellaScott · 10/11/2021 19:40

Sorry, a little bit over 1%. And they're in government. Brave new world.

bluebling · 10/11/2021 19:41

Done

2319inprogress · 10/11/2021 22:16

Bumping this up

Hoardasaurusterf · 10/11/2021 22:32

Done, but not holding my breath for a response from my SNP constituency MSP. I have written to them & their predecessor with no response beyond the 'thanks for your email' autoresponse. Too busy giving away my rights!

Hoardasaurusterf · 10/11/2021 22:34

@ArabellaScott

The human rights of minority groups should not be open to debate and interpretation, they should be accepted.

Which human rights? The rights of rapists to be housed in women's prisons? The right of children to access off-label medication and surgery to treat 'dysphoria'? The right of male doctors to treat female patients who've specifically asked for a female HCP, even in cases like care for rape victims?

Hope someone sends herr a reply asking her these questions!
2319inprogress · 10/11/2021 23:19

I don't have anything yet except 3 OOO replies Hmm
I'm bracing myself for Monica Lennon Angry

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 10/11/2021 23:43

Trans rights and women’s rights are not in conflict, as all humans have the same human rights.

Yes, and these include both men and women having the right to their own single-sex spaces. An immediate conflict with the extra privilege demanded by trans activists.

Keeptrudging · 10/11/2021 23:46

Done.

grannyjacob · 11/11/2021 00:34

I’ve had the same excellent response from Douglas Lumsden, Conservative for North East Scotland. I too am stunned to think that in the next Election, I either vote Conservative or don’t vote at all. Also had a not unexpected, full of waffle response from Maggie Chapman, Green. No response as of yet from any of the other six, who are either Green or SNP.
I had also added extra to the email template.

ArabellaScott · 11/11/2021 08:33

I had a longer response from one MSP that did actually attempt to discuss some of the points. Albeit with massive gaps in logic and reasoning. It's a start.

Sillydoggy · 11/11/2021 10:09

I had Lorna Slater's rubbish back too. I used to think it wasn't worth sending them to those who are embedded in the ideology but actually now I think it is worth annoying them and reminding them that they aren't living in a bubble. If LS has had to create a standard response that means she is eating plenty of mail on this issue!

Sillydoggy · 11/11/2021 10:14

Ok I am sure she is not 'eating' but 'getting' !

talkingdeadscot · 11/11/2021 10:17

I just received the same Lorna Slater response. It maddens me that whenever I raise the concerns of women the first thing they respond with is their support of 'trans rights'. It's as if they know there's a clash.

ArabellaScott · 11/11/2021 10:40

Yes.

'I care about women and girls'

'Well, I support trans rights'

Odd take.
