@Timefortea4

Ceri is amazing. Worth watching her on Womb with a View on you tube. You might make it to the end without crying, but it's unlikely.
Very moving testimony by Ceri, I agree.

"Womb With A View Season 2 Episode 1"

This week Aja, Lippy, Birdy, Chinzia, Iris and Tania were joined by Lauren and Ceri Black.

Belatedly catching up! What sessions in Parliament were those about?

Update from Ceri

UPDATE: the police just rocked up at my door. They looked scared, weirdly. Slightly breathless scared.

The officer apologised to me, then read me my rights.

Then he told me that he was going to report "this matter" to the Prosecution service.

Having told me they would do it a month ago, just now they got round to doing it?

The process is the punishment alright.

The good news is that the conversation we had with our kids about it worked, because they were very matter of fact about the police arriving.

Side note: i will never get over the fact that the police here wear a belt which holds, amongst other things, a gun, visible hancuffs and what looks like an impressive array of weaponry. They are not messing around.

Weird, then, that he looked scared of lil old me, lol.

More

Have they clarified what ‘this matter’ is?

Not at all. [He who should not be named] something something tweets transphobe harassment malicious communications something something mumbles electronic networks.

They won't tell me details, but there are multiple complaints

(I was in two minds whether to post the update in this thread or make a new one.)

Looks like it's going the same way as the other cases against GC people. Let's hope it ends the same way too. But like Ceri said the process is the punishment.

CeriBlack · 04/12/2021 02:33

My mate is spamming me with mumsnet threads, and I just... I can't even tell you how emboldened I feel. Thank you.

The complainant is David Paisley. Don't worry, you can say his name. He's not Voldemort.

By reporting me, he has left himself open to a range of remedies from my side.

I just have to get this ridiculous prosecution over me, and then... bring it.

CeriBlack · 04/12/2021 02:51

Yous are brilliant women and I'm here, shoulder to shoulder with you. x

CeriBlack · 04/12/2021 02:58

Don't worry, you can say his name.

He's David Paisley, not Voldemort, after all. And he really did blur the boundaries around child protection.

I don't think he's a child abuser. But I do think that he wades into debates about child protection without any knowledge about the issues, and muddies the waters, in an effort to score points.

I just... I have to say it. I have no knowledge of this space, but I already love mumsnet.

I never had tough, boundaried women in my corner. Speaking the truth, being on my side. Only my wife. You can't even know how bloody lovely it is to listen to you "talking behind my back" and just...

I'm gonna do my best to be who I am, ok? to keep my promises.

And we will all lay down our little stones together, and raise up a shield wall, to protect children.

Bloody hell.

Yous...

I don't even know. I REALLY wish I were in a mother and toddler group with yous, it would be EPIC

CeriBlack Flowers for being bloody fearless and Brew because it’s what friends share… or Gin Grin

TheFnozwhowasmirage · 04/12/2021 13:36

CeriBlack I don't use Twitter, but followed the links from here.
I can't express how much I admire your strength and courage. The very fact that the police appeared embarrassed shows that the complaints against you have no merits at all.
I'm behind you all the way. Should you require help gardening, then I'll contribute.
Wishing all good things for you and your family.

picklemewalnuts · 04/12/2021 13:53

It's lovely to see you here, Ceri! Keep on keeping on!

3timeslucky · 05/12/2021 12:02

The laying down of little stones is such a beautiful image, all those tiny acts that come together in strength and solidarity, and protection. Your speech in Dublin gave me the shivers. Thank you for coming. And thank you for speaking out on this.
