Harrop MPTS Hearing

The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that from 10 May 2018 to 23 November 2019, Dr Harrop inappropriately used his Twitter account to post tweets that were offensive and/or insulting and/or inappropriate in nature and some of which were intended to intimidate.

WOW!!!

Why on earth anyone thought that Vice piece was helpful to Harrop, I’ve no idea. With friends like those…!

I would imagine that quite a few people have contacted the MPTS after seeing that Vice article published and publicised on Twitter.

OMG I’ve just read the Vice article... Harrop must really want a career change. I hope his stage 2 reflections read something like this. The panel will have a field day…

“Today, Harrop is “deeply sorry” for the negative implications of his tweets, even in the face of extreme abuse, both then and now.”

That's a bloody good idea. I was one who complained but I didnt want to go further, obviously and with other reasons. I Can only imagine what shit is coming my way now if my details were given. Anyone got an email address? I've got to run off to work in a few minutes.

Live now: Sorry this is a break from my thread which I will continue with. On return from the break the GMC have just informed the chair of a news article they have been just made aware of. The hearing has just be adjourned for the GMC to seek further information &

for AH Counsel to speak to him on this matter only; nothing else is allowed to be discussed with his counsel now he has begun to give evidence

You'd think, but it does say very clearly in the Vice article:

The witnesses and tweets involved in the case are currently being kept anonymous, but VICE World News was sent all of the material being discussed in the tribunal, including the full dossier of allegations, witness statements, and documents defending the doctor.

JFC he shared the full dossier with Vice, the tweets, the witness statements, their details, who the fuck does he think he is? Does he not understand rules of anonymity? He has just doxxed the witnesses to the press, he should be in fucking jail.

That's the only interpretation I can see of that sentence in the Vice article.

In which case he has knowingly breached medical confidentiality on a massive scale, which is a whole separate offence.

Wouldn't surprise me if the entitled little wassock has shared that dossier amongst all his friends including JP.

I'd simply say you are concerned your details have been leaked to Vice in relation to the Harrop hearing and can they contact you.

That is a relevant point for witnesses to ask.

If this man is so monumentally lost to all sense that he has released it to the press, who else has he released it to?

This is in line with the judge's explicit order to Mermaids to not share documents (that shouldn't be necessary).

It seems to be the case that the fanatics over on that side regard any sort of court case as a doxxing opportunity to obtain and distribute information about their opponents.
