I've copied the blog if don't want to click.

There's a lot of criticism on Twitter already do I am not inviting a pile on.
I do think it is made abundantly clear here that children are just caught in the crossfire of older transitioners and their supporters who have lost sight or know absolutely nothing of the impact on vulnerable young people.

So many agencies paid to be there for them, really are not if they are funnelling children to this adult idea.

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 18/10/2021 18:45

For a brief, unspectacled moment, I thought that was a chalk drawing of Toothless

Thats who it reminded me of!

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 18/10/2021 18:55

What a load of nonsense. I have no idea who the writer of that tract is but they cannot write a coherent sentence for toffee.

ScreamingMeMesaur · 18/10/2021 19:09

[quote RoseisMadder]Oh yes, lots of justification and excuses online

Oh wow. Lots of DARVO there too. They are clueless.

ScreamingMeMesaur · 18/10/2021 19:10

And I'm disgusted by the references to "genocide" on that Reddit post.

Inlook · 18/10/2021 19:11

So Steph is so upset that their inexperience with young people has drawn in youngsters at risk of agressive alienation, that Steph is fake newsing it too, saying it was placed by Filia.

Totally out of depth on this. As are Amnesty.

In one way it's a relief that we are nowhere near as polarized as the US where violent factions protest outside of a Spa.

But this is the same anger coming from people radicalised to the point where they can't actually see that convincing young vulnerable people that they are hated is a very poor approach to their vulnerability.

It's about time all the well funded agencies got a grip.

Stephs place think transwomen should be centred in feminism and that any organisation no matter what good work they do, should be protested if they support LGB alliance or have wrong opinions on GRA reform

I went on it once to give the blogger the benefit of the doubt and it was a D minus from me, I'm afraid. Badly written, poorly sourced (if at all), and troublingly lacking in accuracy when compared to other credible sources.

I'm not a fan but I'm sure one or two exist.

Inlook · 18/10/2021 19:25

I honestly don't care what Steph's place think.

Steph is a 69 year old male with no experience of teenagers in 2021.

Which is abundantly clear from the rage fest Steph's misguided protest of a conference for victims of male violence has generated. If Steph had any sense whatsoever the message would have been "this is not part of our campaign".

What troubles me the most is this derogation of care for young people in service of the needs of adults like Steph.

Leave child alone Steph.

RoseisMadder · 18/10/2021 19:29

@ScreamingMeMesaur I had to stop reading the thread, the misogyny was making me so angry. The attitude of ‘So what?’ And it’s only words. They really have no idea how words can trigger trauma responses in victims of male aggression and rape… I don’t think they’d care if they did get it

Ah I was idly wondering how long it would be before someone claimed a false flag.

I always think that would be more convincing if the internet weren't awash with images and tweets like this. 'We wouldn't do that' is much less convincing when you do shit like that, and worse, all day every day.

Inlook · 18/10/2021 19:38

Steph is a 69 year old male.

Steph invited protest to this conference.

Because Steph has a complaint about the submissions made to the GRA consultation.

Of course they don't get it. A public consultation was not an invitation to constantly harass the victims of male violence for evermore.

But to Steph it is.

RainbowCrossing · 18/10/2021 19:38

And if it's a false flag those vulnerable 17 year olds will have ĢC Twitter accounts won't they? I await receipts...

Sometimes words are violence and sometimes they aren't, huh?

Weren't those photos posted on a protester's instagram account? Hmm

MissingLesbianSpaces · 18/10/2021 19:50

Women need to bring signs that say "If you use the language of a rapist, we will assume you ARE a rapist", and stand next to these women-haters.

Inlook · 18/10/2021 19:56

As parents do we want children dragged into this adult male agenda?

The inroads made on vilifying parents and those responsible for looked after children as bigoted is all here at this demonstration against women talking about violence against women.

Inlook · 18/10/2021 19:57

They are parent haters.
They are carer haters.

Not just women haters.

RainbowCrossing · 18/10/2021 20:09

Actually now I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for them tbh.

'Who brought the 'suck my dick, TERF cunts' placard?'

'Erm, we did.'

'Why did you do that? Can you not see it makes us look like misogynist arseholes?'

'Um, well yeah I s'pose but we all say that to women all the time on Twitter so I thought it was ok?'

Confused
RainbowCrossing · 18/10/2021 20:11

Oops. Well, there you go Steph: it looks like - once again - the simplest answer (TRAs are massive misogynists) was the correct one.

I have a suspicion it went more..

"erm we did"

"Look WE KNOW you're right and we ABSOLUTELY AGREE but they use our absolutely justifiable words and make people feel sorry for them like they're the victims, it's this really nasty trick they play when we're just innocently drawing pictures of penises and threatening to rape and murder them."

It's a bit like that poster who popped onto the 'terf' thread tonight and posted a lot of swearing abuse while saying it wasn't dehumanising because they said it wasn't.

There really does seem to be a belief that unless those of a certain group of authority have told the rest of us how to perceive something and what we are to call it and feel about it that we're wrong and bad for drawing our own conclusions. Particularly for pointing out the problems with it. (Unless they told us there were problems and how to point to them.)

CakeSale · 18/10/2021 20:36

Weren't those photos posted on a protester's instagram account?

Yes. Here is a protestor posting a video of himself chalking, including the “transphobe bashing stick” one

Interesting to see how relieved Steph was that there wasn't a riot. Presumably Steph has seen all the aggression, assaults, intimidation, threats, hammering on windows, threatening to set fire to buildings and the rest that women have learnt will come our way if we meet to discuss women's issues without the permission of Steph and Steph's colleagues.
I am slightly reassured that Steph was keen that there shouldn't be a riot, just dismayed that Steph thinks it's OK to protest outside a women's conference because Steph doesn't like some things women say. That does seems...patriarchal? ... oppressive... disrespectful... maybe misogynistic? And sadly predictable. Hmm

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 18/10/2021 20:38

Artichokeleaves

Reading that reddit thread linked above was grimly fascinating. The conviction that only "middle-class" women could take offence to placards with sexually aggressive language on, and that women were unreasonable to take offence at words. They, the users on reddit, don't have a problem with that placard, so no-one else can. A total unwillingness to take female experiences and points of view on board.

May I remind you, this is a group of people who call.it a microaggression if you don't use the spacebar on your keyboard when typing "transwoman".

But describing what sex acts you want unwilling women to do on you is totally fine?
