So... if I drink from a mug with a dinosaur on it at work, or have a dinosaur emoji on my status etc etc

Will that now be a subtle signal to my fellow GC sisters? I do hope so, I can't wait to see lots of dinosaurs being sported by women out and about - anyone complaining about a woman with a dinosaur is simply going to look batshit crazy Grin. (Although just to be clear I do talk about this a lot in rl but not so much at work but generally think that the more women who don't yet speak out about this can see how many others are GC the better and I suspect that the "GC Dinosaur" may just be our Bat Signal")

I believe it is meant to depict a transman. The character does look very childlike though. I don’t care to speculate what the intention is with that.

My dinosaur masks arrived as well 👍🏻 in time for FiLiA this weekend!!

JellySaurus
Unlike the tweeters, I didn't read that cartoon s as a man dating a boy, but s as a man dating a transman. IE vanilla heterosexual, spiced up with a bit of roleplay and dildo anal.

It is supposed to be a depiction of a man in a relationship with a transman, yep.

So pleased I found this thread, I've treated myself to the Tea-Rex pin!

It reminds me of some advice I was given once about enforcing boundaries with people who don't respect them. If you enforce a boundary and they say "You're being really selfish." you can calmly say "Yes, I'm being selfish, the boundary still stands though." and it takes the power out of the accusation.

"You are a rights-hoarding dinsosaur."
"Okay fine, I'm a dinosaur. Now what about those rights?"

@PurgatoryOfPotholes

Let me just clarify this point. We have multiple gay men on twitter, as you would have seen when you clicked through, saying that this cartoon and the way it caricatures their sexuality is offensive. Multiple gay men who find the idea offensive that they should see no qualitative difference between sex with a female human using a sex toy and sex with a male human.

Your position is that they are wrong?

And to back your opinion up, your evidence is that you, as a straight woman, think you wouldn't see or feel any difference between experiencing vaginal penetration from a dildo held by a female partner and experiencing vaginal penetration by a penis attached to a male partner?

Or is this an experiment you've already carried out to know?

Can you work out why I might read your post and think "Holy conversion therapy, Batman"?

The idea that men shouldn't be able to tell the difference between a male partner and a female partner, and that they are wrong to say they prefer a male partner is traditional homophobia.

I have considerable sexual experience with both men and women and I can assure you that the two sexes look, smell, taste, feel, and sound completely different from each other from head to toe.

Also, dildos feel nothing like penises. Penises bend during sex, for starters.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/10/2021 23:26

It's not as simple as '' Er, yeah, but trans''

It's nothing to do with gender identity. For most people it is that simple. They either fancy the opposite/same sex or they don't.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/10/2021 23:35

I guess I’m being too simplistic, I just want people to be taken as they are not what others think they should be. And for no one to feel threatened by another group gaining an equal footing.

That isn't what's happening. You are being too simplistic, yes. And naive.

Sainsburys have dinosaur plant holders with plants in this week. They green ones and purple ones. Would make a lovely combo on an office desk.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 16/10/2021 19:55

Got my tea-Rex pin displayed on my handbag at work. (In the police station shhhhhhhGrin)

NitroNine · 17/10/2021 09:33

Qwertee do a Legosaurus t-shirt; one of herbivorous dinosaurs; & poor little T-Rexes having hug!fail.

Snorg Tees have quite a range, including the glorious velociraptor equation, which I have been quietly coveting for some time.

Sass & Belle have an assortment of dino things - if you’re not working from home & thus planning a festive dinosaur backdrop for your Zoom calls, just scroll down for stationery, a glasses case, & lunch things.

Lots of what Rex London have to offer is children’s-party-type-stuff, but if you’re after a microfibre towel for the gym (or wherever else); snack boxes; plasters; pencils… you’re sorted.

For people who are on a limited budget Claire’s Accessories have a selection of dinosaur earrings - don’t know if they’re also marked down in shops. (Probably worth mentioning here that Qwertee, as well as being cheaper than similar sites to start with, often run flash sales - sometimes seemingly completely at random - that make them MUCH cheaper.)

JellySaurus · 19/10/2021 18:30

Look what arrived Grin Now I can wear a 'statement' without distressing my hoodwinked dd.

Wish I could figure out a way to wear three at a time, but I only have one piercing in each ear. And I'm not getting any more - not even for this.

So... if I drink from a mug with a dinosaur on it at work, or have a dinosaur emoji on my status etc etc

Alter one to just have the ring on it and wear as a pendant?
