The GC what now? Are we the cult?

Twice in the last week or so I've read TRA posts on twitter saying GC fems are a cult. Despite the fact the movement begs for debate and sunlight. No secrecy or pushing for kids to hold secrets from their families.
Is this the latest in "I know you are but what am I" or has this been a claim all along and I haven't noticed?

What about gin? Will you drink gin?

'The group is preoccupied with making money' Grin (because no ROTFL emoji)

Pure projection on their part.

@CigarsofthePharoahs

But we don't even have a mantra! How can you be a cult without a mantra???

We don't even have a flag yet Grin

Almost exclusively. I should think we'd also need to drink something pink and fruity with an umbrella in it too, just to prove we're women.

But in all seriousness, its quite upsetting to see something so rational described as a cult. Enraging.

But we don't even have a mantra!

Aren't they an endangered species?

Greetings, fellow cult members 🤗

Ha ha. Yes, it's a massive projection.
I'm always amused at the claim that Glinner is somehow our leader as if they find it impossible to comprehend how women might have an opinion without a man telling them what it is.
Always so revealing.

@ArabellaScott

What I do think is funny is that we are generally not allowed to use the word 'cult' in this forum.

Only if it's directed towards feminists, that seems to be fine!

Agreed. I've seen posts hinting in a very vague, non specific (or non general way - mustn't forget the rules!) that gender ideology's mantras, silencing of dissenting voices and insistence of complete capitulation to a idea might bear some resemblance to a cult, deleted within minutes. But it's directed at 'GC's' - it's totally fine!

Waiting for the inevitable, hypocritical deletion....

Or cult of cunts?
Cunty cult? Thats a good one 😂

@TheWeeDonkey

I have shelf of biology textbooks and even my old PSHE ones on teaching puberty that doesn’t mention gender at all. Am I at a higher level?

I wonder why there are so few "peak GC" stories and so many of the opposite.

ArabellaScott · 16/09/2021 20:56

Aye, we're all 'baddies' Mishy, and it's way past your bedtime.

One viewpoint says "read our books and burn their books".

The other viewpoint says "read both books".

Which viewpoint sounds like the cult / wrong side of history there I wonder?

Nothing so bad as a cunty woman that says "no" is there? A woman that refuses to conform to the gender stereotype of shut up, put up & put out?

Mind-numbing techniques (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, debilitating work routines) are used to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s)

You do want to watch out for the speaking in tongues, though. Can't get a sensible word out of anyone on FWR post 10.30pm on a Friday, it's all glossolalia and vaginal chanting.

I think it’s a commonly held opinion because a RL friend said that “Glinner got the women at mumsnet all riled up”.

What did Glinner do to us exactly? Was there an incident?

Report
ReeseWitherfork · 16/09/2021 21:11

He asked Mumsnet to lobby the national lottery fund to undo their decision to give money to Mermaids.

Doesn't take much to rile us up though. He could have just as easily posted about his neighbours parking with a diagram. And no one talks about cults in those scenarios.

ArabellaScott · 16/09/2021 21:15

Yes, Fitt, but it wasn't difficult to find the woman behind the Twitter name. As I said, I don't think she's very well, so not going to share her name here. I hope she has lots of support around her.

My favourite piece of projection is that we are a cult because GC women have lost friends and acquaintances due to not agreeing with trans theory. But...cults are the ones that refuse to let their members interact with non believers and "suppressive persons"! I've met people who lost their entire family and all their friends because they disagreed with the teachings of Jehovah's witnesses. For this analogy to make sense, GC people would need to refuse to interact with and remain friends with TRAs. But it's the other way around. We lose friends and family because we are deemed dangerous to the ideology. So the ones who are acting like the cult are the TRAs.

The number one sign of a cult is deterring critical thought.

If you are encouraged to think critically and to ask questions, you are highly unlikely to be in a cult.

I rest my case... and leave it to you to decide.

It isn't a bloody cult belief that there are two sexes and that it has consequences for life. Jesus.

I'll never forget the shiver down my spine when I saw 'assigned by a health professional at birth' as a definition of sex. In a real document, issued by the Government. This total nonsense. Who's in a cult again?
