*The owner who kicked out Marion said she recognised her when she came in and kept an eye on her and the group.,

When you say 'owner' do you mean the shareholders of tge Cayman Island based company CK Asset Holdings Ktd or that the chairman and managing director of this company travelled from Hong Kong specifically for this purpose?

Tibtom · 01/09/2021 11:26

*Ltd not Ktd

Jaysmith71 · 01/09/2021 11:27

Looks like the counts are:

  1. The Ribbon
  2. The comments about the arresting officer's behaviour
  3. The linking to the arresting officer's published profile
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/09/2021 11:28

For reasons I have not seen explained, the bartender was unable to kick out this group of women after Marion left, so had to dial 999. A large group of police officers turned up. Hmm

ScreamingMeMe · 01/09/2021 11:29

@KittenKong

The heather on the hills much be a f**r for them then.
And thistles Shock
NonnyMouse1337 · 01/09/2021 11:31

@littlbrowndog

This is true.
Teddy needs to reframe their trauma like the rest of us. Maybe Mridul Wadwa needs to have a therapy session with Teddy.
Tibtom · 01/09/2021 11:32

@Ereshkigalangcleg

They were utterly convinced that they passed

Having seen several unconvincing pictures of that individual, it would be unlikely they wouldn't be clocked as soon as they fully came into view, but if they weren't paying attention and the duty bar manager (as this assistant manager was that night) was behind the bar and not directly serving then it's quite possible they didn't notice them.

In the past I would have considered many transwomen as simply men with an alternative lifestyle and an esoteric style of dress. Particularly around the Edinburgh Fringe. It wouldn't have occurred to me to that I was meant to think of them as women.
WinterTrees · 01/09/2021 11:34

How long until all Waterstones branches in Scotland refuse to sell copies of Alice Walker's book The Color Purple? Bound to be transphobic (no one should have to actually read stuff to see for themselves, right?)

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 01/09/2021 11:37

MargaritaPie

Thanks to that Graham Linear guy or whatever his name is who leaked their identities on his blog, right?

God this is hilarious, reminds me of my narcissistic mother when she pretends not to know the names of the neighbours that she hates, even though she well know's their names having taken in packages for them in the past.

I think she imagines it demonstrates how much she is far too important to learn their names or care about them, even though it's obvious she very much cares - as she spends most of her day looking out the window to see what they are doing and gossiping to her friends about them.

All very childish.

A public profile - that they chose to publish? Damn her for looking at a publicly available piece of promotion and encouraging others to visit the website (errrr - I get paid to try to encourage site hits).

I seem to remember a thread about it on here went pufft because we took the Mickey.

IncludeWomenInThePrequel · 01/09/2021 11:38

Maybe Teddy should not stare at other people's clothing choices as it is not polite.

SpindleWhorl · 01/09/2021 11:41

Literal violets

(Actually they're not, but material reality is just a western construct, right?)

Maybe a polite tut could have been one course of action available to Teddy.
RoyalCorgi · 01/09/2021 11:42

Talk about shifting sands. Charged with things that are then dropped but other, unnamed offences are added to your charge sheet without your knowledge. Is this really standard practise?

Someone needs to tell them that Kafka's The Trial was an allegory, not a handbook.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/09/2021 11:43

YY, I agree.

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 01/09/2021 11:46

@Datun

It's like a horror film. A woman is charged, erroneously. She objects. The charges are dropped, but she is now charged for objecting.
It really is.

It’s like they’ve actually taken Kafka’s The Trial as a guidebook for how to run a justice system.

I know the word Kafkaesque is used a lot, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a closer parallel than this, in the western world at least.

Re 2), does anyone know whether police officers' phonecalls requesting individuals to attend for interview are routinely recorded?
TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 01/09/2021 11:47

Got diverted in the middle of writing my post and cross posted with you, RoyalCorgi!

SpindleWhorl · 01/09/2021 11:47

That's tartan banned then is it, for being triggering?

This is one of my family's tartans. Quite the suffragette stylee.

@OvaHere, Grin. Was that one of the Foxkiller's gems?

BlackForestCake · 01/09/2021 11:50

@ArabellaScott

Thanks, BlackForest. Charges to be dropped seems quite logical, but are they usually added on like that?!
Happens all the time. Breach of the peace is a good last-resort charge if you find you might not have the evidence to get a conviction on what you originally intended.

It's not a secret that there is, shall we say, something of an imbalance of power between the defendant and the Crown in a court.

OvaHere · 01/09/2021 11:55

It was yes. Grin

ArabellaScott · 01/09/2021 11:58

Wow, BlackForest. I haven't had much dealings with the law. I understood it is a 'blunt instrument' but I hadn't realised quite how ... twisty that blunt instrument is.

There is a suffragette tartan (check out the ministry of Tartan website). It’s very pretty.
