Don’t worry, we will be inundated soon with posters telling us the the woman having witch literally spat at her by a male (I make no assumptions about their gender because they haven’t told me) fully deserved it because she was wearing clothes that looked to have violet amongst the colours, because she was at a protest organised to amplify the needs of women on the basis of sex above those of males, she is a [slur, or a dehumanised phrase] or because [insert weak reason here].
And, of course, there will also be the censorious ‘both sides are as bad as each other’, or ‘what do you expect when you are being used by right wing [evangelicals, fascists, political parties, donkeys and aliens]’. Ok, the facetious alien reference was probably off the planet in hyperbole
.
And lastly, we can expect to be told it never happened, that the person spitting witch is not actually x, that the woman said something about something outrageously horrific about wanting women’s rights just before the video started meaning she fully deserved it etc.
It has become so boringly familiar that even bingo has become mundane.
What we don’t see is ownership of the action and posters stating that that person spitting witch in the face of someone, particularly during a pandemic, was completely unacceptable and that should never happen again.
