Women's Rights Demo, Scottish Parliament 11am 2nd Sept

Is anyone off here going, or involved?

The check shirt individual is the one who pushed my friend and wouldn't move out of the way that I mentioned in a previous post.

He was very angry, aggressive and entitled - his tweets regarding the incident are

The coppers never used female pronouns and they requested that there be less confrontation.

I also notice in the tweets that they are continuing to presume the gender of my friend....

Check shirt was shouting that "They all think we're perverts and sex offenders" blah blah blah and I was thinking "No, we just know you are men and don't want you in our spaces".

It really struck me that so many TAs cannot conceive that our arguments and anger are actually good faith arguments about us and what will/is happening to us and not actually about them. All that anger and frothing that women have the audacity to centre themselves.

They don't even see us they're so focused on themselves and their identities.

The police should have intervened where these people laid hands on women.

This incident was during the buildup to the demo and there were only two community coppers there - both of them half the height of Check Shirt...I think de-escalation was their priority tbh and the regular coppers didn't make an appearance until later on.
