Women's Rights Demo, Scottish Parliament 11am 2nd Sept

Also, If they can't be taken seriously, why go and counter protest?

Well done everyone .. couldn't make this one. That right winged trope makes them look ridiculous. I mean you only have to look and see they're just normal women. Joe Public will think WTF are you on about. Brilliant to see so many there. You're all amazing.

I had a good time... first protest I've been to since I was a student!

I was at the edges and spoke to a few people who had been walking past and wanted to know why we were there, all were very supportive!

Just been watching on the news. So glad it was well attended. Like others my holidays are used up for child care over the holidays. I would've loved to have been there.

Brilliant! Thank you to all the wonderful women who were there today. Great to see the turnout was substantial.

And yes to the reporting of women’s concerns in the Herald, who used the terminology of the women’s movement and not the words transactivsts demand in the section about the women’s protest:

”They also repeatedly chanted “women won’t wheest”, as they demanded MSPs respect women’s rights, single-sex spaces and single-sex services, rather than allowing men who identify as women to use them too.”

It’s the funniest trope because it’s so blatantly false

The only gender critical/ radfems I’ve met in the wild (and who have offered up their perspective on this) have been somewhat to the left of socialist. But what’s so good about this movement is that it actually incorporates people from across the political spectrum. Makes it more powerful IMO.

Now if he'd 'described the Green Party as 'Scotland's biggest collection of bigots' I would've agreed with him.

Pretty poor turnout for the counter demo, I mean they put a big shout out on Twitter and everything.

So, just to clarify… there were actual counter protesters there? wearing shirts with logos of alternative lobby groups?

Were they abused? Have their hats stolen? Were they needing police escorts for their safety?
