Thought it deserved a thread of its own on this day of the shopping trip to Glasgow.
JK Rowling has just tweeted it too in response to Joanna Cherry. How I love all these strong, brave women.

Wish I could be there!

Whatthechicken · 20/07/2021 13:16

I have my #WomenWontWheest t shirt on today!

Whatthechicken · 20/07/2021 13:17

*Wheesht

paniquer · 20/07/2021 13:26

Me too. I've seen some pics but work is in the way.

Cailin66 · 20/07/2021 13:30

I just googled and got this youtube.

Cailin66 · 20/07/2021 13:34

Nice to see Marion Miller in the flesh and to hear her. Presumably she can't say much due to the ongoing court case. She was pretty brave to wear the suffragette colors today around her neck. Hope she's not arrested for that by the police !! She might be in luck and the police are busy with the Twitter trolls sending death and rape threats to JK Rowling.

Keepemguessing · 20/07/2021 13:36

Wonderful women!

ArtemesiaK · 20/07/2021 13:43

Can anyone thing of a punchy slogan like that for us in England? :) Wishing you all the best...

Women won't 'shut up and put up' ?
somethinginoffensive · 20/07/2021 13:59

Great turnout!

Fallingirl · 20/07/2021 14:23

That’s an impressive turnout for something that didn’t even go ahead today!

Londono · 20/07/2021 14:26

What does it stand for?

Masdintle · 20/07/2021 14:31

Can't we English just adopt Wheesht? It's such a fab word

BunnyBerries · 20/07/2021 14:39

Northern Ireland also uses Wheesht. Smile I'd love more people in England to use it!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/07/2021 14:52

I like "wheesht" it's perfect.

littlbrowndog · 20/07/2021 14:53

Glorious day for a trip around the shops, and to spend a little time relaxing in the park.

My Grandma in Northumberland used to use "Wheesht" ❤

Hell No! To Hush?

People hear in Cork say 'Whisht!' I always thought it was a corruption of Éist / Aysht meaning Listen! As in shut up and listen. But maybe it's just a sound like Shush? Maybe Women Won't Shush ! would work for England...
Abhannmor · 20/07/2021 15:11

Here * oops

Dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 20/07/2021 15:28

'Women Won't Shush' is the perfect translation I think.

NothingTraLaLa · 20/07/2021 15:47

How about “Don’t shush me ‘cause I’m close to the edge”.

Yes!

It is such a joy looking through this hashtag on Twitter, harsh an environment it can be sometimes. Loads of amazing pictures and comments of women (and some men) coming together. Love it.
