Do "GC"s never, ever wonder whether they might be the baddies? Or even uncomfortably close to them?

@AssassinatedBeauty

The question really is whether *@PumpkinSpiceWoman* is going to come back to the thread to explain how they know what abuse this charity is getting and that it is coming from people that *@PumpkinSpiceWoman* thinks is a "gender critical" feminist or that is "uncomfortably close" to one?

Or is this just a big exercise in chiding women for no reason?

Oh, I'm sure they'll be back. PumpkinSpiceWoman clearly gets excited at the opportunity to admonish women en masse Hmm.
InspiralCoalescenceRingdown · 14/07/2021 11:01

BTW when TRAs were physically assaulting feminists, nailing dead rats to rape crisis centre doors, hanging effigies of GC politicians, threatening to rape and kill JKR, tweeting pictures of porn on threads for childrens etc etc, did you ever stop to ask yourself whether you might be the baddies?

I also wonder if they ever think about Patricia Wright, Charlotte Reed and Benny Diambu-Wright?

I'll take wokescolding for $500, Alex.
Gumbomambo · 14/07/2021 11:04

No I don't feel bad. I care about women and children. Why don't you Bob over to this is this a man or a woman thread and talk to us about abuse?

Iliketherainbest · 14/07/2021 11:05

Agree @InspiralCoalescenceRingdown

If you define another's views as violence it makes any physically violent responses towards them easier to justify psychologically.

God, I do. Such a horrifying crime. Five years on and I believe the accused still hasn't gone to trial or the story covered by most mainstream media.
SugarPlumber · 14/07/2021 11:10

Never in a million years did I ever thing 'woman' would be a dirty word when I was growing up.

TheSlayer · 14/07/2021 11:10

What a well thought out, evidenced and measured damning of the gender critical movement.

Oh, no, wait it's pumpkinspicemenstruater stirring the pot again.

RickiTarr · 14/07/2021 11:12

I think you’re going to have to expand on your title and the connection (if any) with your OP.

Who are birthrights?

TheRebelle · 14/07/2021 11:17

It reminds me of when you’re at primary school and a bully hits you then runs to the teacher and says you hit them.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 14/07/2021 11:18

Disagreement is not violence
Objection is not violence
Feeling angry that the language of women and mothers is being erased for words that have no meaning, while men get to carry on being men is not violence
Voicing our feelings of betrayal by the very institutions set up to stand up for us is not violence
Telling those institutions they don't stand for us anymore is not violence

If they've received actual threats then they need to go to the police.

Announcing they're turning off replies because they got ratioed instead of the warm huggy celebratory replies they were expecting, and calling it "violence" is pathetic.

They want to move forward with their shiny new stance that's up to them. Women, Mothers - we'll find our own space with our own words, yet again. And when the gender inclusivity lot come for us again as they undoubtedly will, with any luck they'll be told to piss off back to Birthrights and leave WOMEN alone.

FightingtheFoo · 14/07/2021 11:20

Two words mate: Karen White.

Do TRAs never consider they might be the "baddies"?

Cerebelle · 14/07/2021 11:23

@StrawberrySquirrelThief

They’ve posted this on Instagram. Which says their staff have experienced threats of violence which is in no way acceptable. However they were complicit in Milli Hill being on the receiving end of similar abuse (this in no way makes it acceptable).
I don't doubt they have received horrible messages and threats. Unfortunately that tends to happen a lot when anyone posts anything controversial. I've had random abusive PMs after commenting on the mildest of topics (nothing to do with sex or gender). They usually come from angry men who will take any excuse to threaten anyone they perceive as below them - women, liberals, BAME people etc.

I would be very, very surprised if such messages were coming from actual feminists.

We want to maintain women's sex based rights, which we NEED because of men's violent history of exploitation and abuse of women which is based on biological differences. Men don't have our biology, so they have no need of our rights, yet they are trying to steal them anyway.

We want to prevent children undergoing irreversible and wholly unnecessary surgery and taking damaging medication that will make them sterile.

We abhor sickening stereotypes that curtail women's and girls' potential, yet are embraced by genderists.

We want to stop vicious men from accessing the most vulnerable women and children in society.

We want lesbians to be left alone by men who appropriate their lives and orientation.

We want women to be seen as the full human beings we are, rather than a costume or a performance for men, many of whom base their twisted ideas of women on savage, degrading pornography.

We want a world where women and girls are valued and protected, not referred to as cervix havers.

So no. I never 'wonder' if we are the baddies because I know exactly who the baddies are.

ScreamingMeMe · 14/07/2021 11:32

And? That's awful but what's it got to do with this

ScreamingMeMe · 14/07/2021 11:32

Board

bellinisurge · 14/07/2021 11:33

Disagreement is not abuse. If you can't counter the argument, you haven't been abused, you've been shown up.

Disagreement is now literal violence
Ribbons are literal violence
Posters stating biological fact are literal violence

But waving your dick around in front of kids is fiiiiiiiine.

No , hope that helps ! 💚🤍💜

Nope. Because we're not. And I saw that story yesterday & tried to find what they were referring to & couldn't. If you know where the evidence is, I'd be interested to see it.
Flippin · 14/07/2021 13:04

Did anyone see any evidence of abuse yet? Threats to rape maybe? Or beatings? “Die in grease fire” or somesuch? Does it come from GC feminists?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/07/2021 13:06

Do "GC"s never, ever wonder whether they might be the baddies? Or even uncomfortably close to them?

No. Why would we be the baddies here? Birthrights is being criticised for their shabby treatment of Milli Hill, and the lie they made about her in their statement.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/07/2021 13:07

Here's a longer thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4293533-Milli-Hill-I-will-not-be-silenced

AnyOldPrion · 14/07/2021 13:18

Add me to the list of people who would be very interested to see some evidence of these violent threats in addition to some evidence they were in some way caused by, or even related to women fighting for women’s rights.

Presumably Birthrights will go to the police and then update us as the women’s rights activists involved are apprehended.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/07/2021 13:21

Quite.

herewegogc · 14/07/2021 13:26

I see the usual suspects are trying very hard to make us the baddies. Not going to work when we are seeing who the real baddies are in plain sight. As is the general public.
