Can start a thread in Sex and Gender, but not Feminist Chat. Why is that?

But thanks @MNHQ - at a time when so many have been saying how grateful they were to the FWR forum - you have basically said you dont want to be associated with it.

And you have not even had the decency to make it a public statement.

It is real hole in the corner actions.

If you really think it is so wonderful and worthwhile where is you public statement at the head of each thread articulating your decision.

Apart from anything else it is just plain rude.

Shutting down gender critical discussion was/is discriminating against a protected and respected view, though. An objective view in line with fact, science and reality.

Kiboshing gender critical views at the behest of bigots who don't wish this to be discussed at all.

I feel like the title sex and gender is really misleading and people will post about sex (the act) and it will just muddy the waters.

Which might have been the intention all along.

I'm going to be honest.

I don't particularly give a hoot that they have streamlined it into two sections.

The Womens Rights board came about because women were "feministing" all over the MN show - in Legal, Relationships (especially Relationships), Chat, AIBU, Furbabies*, Divorce - and certain types of "people" HATED IT. It had to be kettled controlled.

Wimmin. Supporting other wimmim.

Down with that sort of thing!

If you've been here 10-20 years, you'll know exactly that.

Yes. That one should have been given a space in belief. It is is not comparable to the objective, factual and science based reality of biological sex.

Can someone who is more IT literate tell me if this means all the feminism pages that I'd bookmarked on my personal pc will still be there? Not currently near it to check. There were loads of really good resources I don't want to lose.

As someone who mostly comes to MN to read the feminism board, it is really frustrating, and disjointed to have to scroll through two different boards to see what has been written, especially as it takes more than one click to go between them.

Calling this section 'sex and gender debate' is all wrong. It's like an invitation to TRAs to come 'debate' the issues with feminists. Which is not what we are here for.

This is supposed to be a feminist space, and as such, feminists needs to be free to discuss the legal and social implications for women, of the push to redefine the word 'women' to include men. There's political fora and 'in the news' and any number of other spaces for people to flex their real or imagined debating skills. This is supposed to be a feminism topic for feminists, not a debate topic for all comers.

This is all wrong.

The thread title and a couple of posters refer to Feminist Chat but it wasn't called that - it was Feminism Chat.
