Probably not a useful thread but one that I remember because it made me aware there was a peak to be climbed. I can't remember if the thread was here or in site stuff. MNHQ had put on some sort of RL event where you could go along and see influential female bloggers talk about blogging (I think). One of their guests was a transwoman, and some people were really up in arms about this. I thought they were being a bit odd TBH, but the seed was sown.

Paris Lees?

Beowulfa · 18/06/2021 13:08

I came here via the classic Break It Down For Me, which took a while to get my head around.

Recent threads I really enjoyed were Was Laura Ingalls Wilder A Feminist and one about wildlife writing. Both made me really think and contained good book recommendations.

Any thread where certain posters tried to explain gender identity, non binary and how males can be lesbians were fascinating, for the language and the psychology.

@R0wantrees

Paris Lees?
Yes! Thanks for the clue - I've found the thread now

2016! At the time I really didn't understand why everyone was so angry, but I was made aware that there was a potential issue.

Gosh, good thread.

I'm actually finding it really interesting reading it back now that I actually understand what it was all about. Also interesting to see how much Justine defends Paris Lees.
