I’m disappointed in him. I read and enjoyed his book Chavs when it came out and he made a lot of valid points about the demonisation of the working class and how the narrative has been deliberately manipulated by the right. But in recent years it’s clear that he is one of those disappointing gay misogynists who seem to despise women. Why?!

His views are becoming more out of date with every week that goes by. Along with Stonewall, he's losing the support of a lot of LGB people.

It's not uncommon for teenagers and twenty-somethings to think people in their 40s are a different species. Owen is reaching the stage where his fans will be looking for a younger, more charismatic and more well-informed leader.

Instead of Little OJ, he's becoming Increasingly Irrelevant OJ.

How ironic for a man who tried to claim that we are the ones on the wrong side of history.
