The last time I looked, single six exceptions were based on specifically things like refuges. I'm not sure you could exclude men from sitting next to you drinking a flat white.

Like one of those awful lady books where the heroine leaves her stressful job/ horrible boyfriend and moves to the seaside/ countryside to open a sweet shop / sell cupcakes,only to catch the eye of the Lord of the manor and find true and lasting love.

No academics do not know how to set up and run a project. This project needs women who understand the legalities and can implement these. Instead the suggestions on here are that there will be a house where women will stay and pretend it is just friends being invited to live there.

And what is wrong with that? I can invite who I like to my house, I can also guarantee no men in any guise, because it's my house.
In the immediate aftermath women need a safe space, I will provide that at no cost.
Someone else will then take on rehoming the women and families.
If say 200 women country wide open their homes then that's 200 fewer having nowhere to go or having to share with men.

Fatboy Slim owns a great cafe near where I live. I'm sure his fame has helped its success, and Posie's would be the same.

I also don't hear anyone sneering at him for wasting his talents running a 'nice little cafe'.

Sapphos, regarding things Posie said years ago about abuse happening if you allow it; Raising funds to start a refuge for abused women is the biggest, clearest, most emphatic way of making amends for that.

Could anyone posting here honestly say they have done anything like that to make up for things they said in the past?

I think my facetiousness passed you by. I was in fact suggesting that the suggestion Posie run a café instead of crowd fund a refuge because it would be more suited to her talents, was in fact sexist and patronising.

Not necessarily. It's perfectly feasible to operate as a voluntary organisation/not for profit without registering as anything.

Yes it really was. The activists are all over this thread stamping their feet, slurring Posies name and coming out with patronising suggestions. Which makes me think she's definitely doing something right here.
